Well, the system could use some minor improvements. I ordered online for "pick up" not "drive thru" and I paid ahead online. The interwebs said my order was being filled and to come and get it.
When I arrived there was no curbside "pick up" and I couldn't open the doors to ask for my already paid for pick up order, so I had to go through the drive thru line and follow 2 or 3 other people who were placing orders to be filled.
Then, when I finally got to the window to speak to a human being the nice girls working the drive thru window informed me that they had just given the last of the spicy french fries and coleslaw to the customers that were ordering in line before me and they were now all out of both until a delivery of supplies scheduled for the following day. Those girls also informed me that they do not fill orders until customers arrive to pick up their orders, but they still had mashed potatoes with gravy and beans and rice as substitutes.
This did not seem right to me. I ordered everything well ahead of those folks ordering in line and paid ahead of time, too! My babies were so DISAPPOINTED, as they do not like beans and rice or mashed potatoes with gravy. Those babies were really exited that they were going to be getting spicy french fries, but were very disappointed about getting substitutes that they didn't even want. I was told my order would be ready for "pick up" according to the interwebs thingy, but it was not!
The helpful girls at the drive thru window tried to give me ketchup for the fries I did not have and had no honey for my babies to put on their biscuits. It was so sad!
I cried and moaned a little bit about it all and the drive thru pick up window girls gave me some extra chicken tenders to compensate me for the inconvenience of it all and to get me to go away because my "pick up" order fiasco was holding up the "drive thru" order line. I felt better since they gave me that little box of tenders, but my babies sure were disappointed about the spicy fries ending up being mashed potatoes and gravy.
I was only going to give the 1 star "hated it" score, but since those girls were so sweet in how they consoled me and gave me that little box of tenders to compensate me for all the confusion, aggravation, disappointment, and wasted time and energy of trying to figure out how to get my "counter" ready "pick up" I'm giving a 3 star "it's okay" status instead.
Y'all really need to get your act together! Those poor high school girls shouldn't be having to cleanup after management...
Read moreI need to preface this by saying I like Popeyes. We went to the Bastrop location yesterday evening for dinner and now my wife never wants to eat at a Popeyes again. Didn't start out so great. My wife greeted the order taker. He looked at her and didn't say anything. I tried ordering one of their new chicken sandwiches with bacon. The order taker looked at me and said "We don't have any bacon." Okay, I went ahead and ordered a classic chicken sandwich, one for me and one for my daughter. Wife wants some chicken, all white meat. The order taker turns around and is yelling at the lady who is manning the chicken fryer. She's on her cell phone and doesn't hear him. He yells at her three times before she responds. 6 minutes for chicken. Groovy. We pay. He doesn't say anything and walks away. We get his attention because we'd like a receipt. "We don't have any receipts. It's not working." Okay. We get the chicken and it's nice and hot. That was a good thing. Unfortunately they "don't have any napkins." Wife asks for butter for her biscuit. "We don't have any butter." What they do have is a couple of vents in their dining room that were dripping water (we were trying to figure out why everyone was sitting on one side of the dining room - they were avoiding the "splash zone.") No buckets, no towels. Just a lot of water on the floor. I don't know if this franchisee is just waiting for their lease to expire or what but it was one of the worst fast food experiences I've an ever had. I can't believe Popeyes would allow this place to sell their brand. I can't believe Bastrop allows it to be open. If the dining room was in that kind of condition, I can only image what the kitchen was like. Avoid this Popeyes location...
Read moreHave you ever been to a Popeyes Restaurant and had good customer service? Neither have I until now. I was on my way home back to Houston, TX from Austin and decided I deserved a greasy meal after finishing an Ironman Triathlon the day before.
I walk in and was greeted immediately. I went ahead and placed an order of their 5pc Spicy Chicken Tenders with Gravy. The food came out very quickly, I immediately noticed that there were only 3pc Chicken Tenders. I started to look for my receipt to verify that I had been charged for the 5pcs of tenders, it turned out that I was not. It's fine, I wasn't bothered by it and asked if I could be charged for 2 additional tenders. The manager on duty went ahead and gave me the 2 other tenders and apologized for the misunderstanding. If it were any other Popeyes they would have gladly taken my money.
I finally sat down and digged into my meal. I opened up my container of gravy and found white cream gravy. Never have I seen cream gravy at Popeyes before and never have they suggested it as an option. I was expecting their delicious Cajun Spicy Gravy. I tasted it and it was okay but the tenders really pair much better with the Cajun Gravy. Instead of saying anything about the White Gravy, I went to the cashier and asked her to charge me for a side of their Cajun Gravy. She then went to the back and filled up a small container of it and told me it's all good, no charge. That was awesome. Every single time I have visited a Popeyes in Houston they have always charged me extra for the gravy. I always thought that was stupid and didn't understand why.
I commend this location on their friendliness and...
