We used to love this place....I am coming back to change my review. We have been to this theater numerous times and it always been fantastic....all it takes is 1 bad egg to screw that up and this past weekend on Sunday, it was the manager Josh I believe.
The movie times for Secret Life of Pets 2 were posted on 6 different sites with a start time of 1040am. We got there about 1030 or so and walked up to the counter to get the tickets. I said 2 adults and 1 child for the 1040 showing and the young lady replied, you mean 1020 and I said no, 1040 is what’s listed. She said well there’s 15 mins worth of previews so you haven’t missed much.
By this time, a second girl had walked up listening to the conversation and she proceeded to argue with me...I showed her several sites where it shows the 1040 time and she said, well it’s only been on for 20 mins with 5 mins of previews so it will be fine. I said, well she told me 15 mins of previews, so how much of the movie have we missed?! They didn’t seem to understand this question of timing. I asked for a manager and they pointed down the hallway....to which there were several doors so I had to hunt...he couldn’t be found.
We went into the movie which had started. I came back out in a few minutes to get a bowl to put popcorn in and the manager was at the register. I asked to speak with him and he said sure. I proceeded to tell him what happened and before I could finish, he said well we aren’t responsible for what they show. We only refer people to our website. I said, well that’s fine except when you do the click thrus, it can take you to Fandango as well, which shows the 1040 time. He didn’t seem to get it either, even though I was showing him.
In the end, he said, well simply put just go thru our website and it’ll be fine...I just said OK and left it at that. It was a losing battle. It’s fine though, we will take our movie business to Sunset Valley...it’s well worth the drive!! This place has a super nice facility and great pricing but with service like this, I’ll pay the extra gas and go elsewhere. We missed the first 10-15 mins of the movie which really is a killer, especially for a 7-yo boy who’s autistic and...
Read moreFormer resident of Bastrop first time to the theater and several years. My wife and I were excited to see the changes and was looking forward to the comedy show on Saturday night. WOW !! we were very disappointed. Walked around for a quick view and found the bathrooms near the bowling alleys are still under construction. It's been that way for quite some time. I inquired about the bowling with several customers, said that the alleys were not working correctly. That has always been the case. Going back 10 years plus. The game room was empty from what I understand and from what I was told most of the games are broken. But let's get to the real issue. Paid $15 per ticket with a two drink minimum for the comedy show. For starters, the comedy really came from the two local drunks that were arguing before the show even started at 8:00. But it's most disconcerning and upsetting. Is that management let them stay as they were cussing at one another across the dining area and spilling drinks all over the floor. Management to my surprise, continue to serve them alcohol and let them stay through the first act, the paying individuals were very upset with this because the lady was drunk and disorderly and extremely disruptive to the show and yet she was allowed to stay. My wife and I after an hour of being there we're told we could not order any more drinks and we were cut off. I understand that management needs to be careful, but let's be honest. The drinks that we were ordering were so diluted down. I might as well have ordered a glass of water and saved a ton of money. Keep in mind this is only after an hour I wasn't even allowed to order a beer to finish watching the final act. In closing I would stay away from this place. It is still under construction and quite frankly a dump!! As far as comedy goes, there was nothing funny about it except for the fact that management let disruptive local trunks stay and ruin the show for everyone. Shave...
Read moreWe have been regular patrons at Film Alley for over 2 years and our most recent visit was bonkers.
Our party purchased concessions (as it does every time) and bowling lanes but we were treated like nuisance teenagers (which we’re not… we’re almost middle aged moms).
The date was Sept 4, 2024. The manager acted like we were seriously bothering him anytime we needed assistance; even just a shoe rental.
Members of our party were special needs (protected by ADA laws) and some had undergone serious health issues as of late and yet they were yelled at by kitchen staff and spoken sternly to by the manager to remove their water bottles from the premise.
Depending on their dietary needs or any ailments a guest may have, water needs to be a beverage a patron can accompany with them. Even if the theater sells bottled water, water is considered a necessity and no guest should be inconvenienced with having to keep getting up from their seat to either visit the water fountain or get a courtesy cup of it (courtesy cups are quite small). Bringing their own bottle, even an empty one that they'll fill at the fountain, needs to be a decision they have. This is especially important for guests that may have to take medication with water at a particular time. If they happen to be in a movie theater or bowling at that time of day, they should never be pressured to pay for water to take their medication.
The lack of regard for customer service was beyond appalling.
The issues that arose due to discrepancies with policies and patron etiquette (bringing in water bottles) were not handled professionally or courteously.
Do better, Film Alley. Train your managers and staff to value customers… your livelihood...
