Sidecar Supper Club & Beer Garden — Restaurant in Batavia Township

There really is no place like it! I’ve been a regular here for the last 5 years, and you really have to experience Sidecar in the summer to truly appreciate all the different and eclectic facets to it. Their Thursday night trivia fills the street with music and good food while you play. Friday and Saturday nights they have excellent bands in their upstairs beer garden adorned with ivy and twinkle lights. Sundays the street fills up again Ravinia-style for a sweet Bluegrass Sunday that is very family friendly. The food features items like from scratch burgers with hand cut fries, homemade chili, Mac and cheese, salads, the best homemade tots ever, a knockout portobello sandwich, and prime rib! I’ve seen bands here and wondered why they’re not famous. I’ve seen lovely artisan vendors here selling their art or flowers here and bought a thing or two. I’ve also seen how hard the staff works and are always ready to do what they can for you. In the winter time it turns into a warm and cozy music-by-fireside haven from the cold with a thoughtfully curated craft beer menu, complete with beer and whiskey dinner events! This place epitomizes neighborhood hang out. You go here a few times and you are family, and not in a creepy Olive Garden way. Endless beer selection, outdoor seating, weekends have live bands outside with another bar, friendly people...but where this place sets itself apart from anything else is the food. This is more of a restaurant in an old pub with tin ceiling and wood floor setting rather than a bar with bar food. All the food is from local area and is made with attention. The burgers are huge and will rival any “burger specialty” place, great crab cakes and adult Mac and cheese, and be sure to try the different varieties of bacon they smoke on site. The owner is friendly and truly cares. It is family friendly with board games to play and is a truly unique place that isn’t like any other place in the tri-cities area. Amazing outdoor private event space!

I wanted an outside space to throw a surprise party for my husband that could accommodate 40-60 people comfortably and give people room to move around and have different spaces to gather. This. was. perfect.

We had our own private bar and two different levels of space to use that included a stage, low-top tables, and high-top bar stools. It was truly the perfect space and we got TONS of compliments on the venue itself.

The owners, Melissa and Ryan, were incredibly easy to work with and helped us figure out the details of food/drink details super efficiently. They were open to having an outside DJ, my bringing in a kids table with a bunch of crafts (sorry about the slime remnants), and were kind in answering pestering emails coordinating details.

I would 100% have another event in the beer garden space and hope that I can find an excuse to do so one day!
