Batavia Creamery — Restaurant in Batavia Township

Update: while the owner did respond to this review, I never received anything more after I followed up. We will not be back.

We have always loved coming to get ice cream here as there is so many awesome selections and options for those who can't have dairy. I was extremely upset on my latest visit as multiple employees were extremely rude. There was a line out the door and 3 employees leaning against the counter. They were frustrated that people were not all fitting and asked me to move forward to let others in. Unfortunately with the capacity of the line we could not move forward so I replied "I'm not sure where you want us to move forward to." She turned to her coworker who both rolled their eyes at me and proceeded to talk about me. I looked at her and smiled to let her know I'm watching and can see her facial reactions. She proceeded to then complain to multiple coworkers about me. After about 5 mins of her sitting against the counter she asked who was next which happened to be my party which she was not thrilled to be helping. I understand that the staff is young but they need to learn how to not be so rude to customers and while busy step up to the plate and help. Out of the 5 or so employees I only saw 3 really busy consistently to get the line down. Really disappointed...

I must say - the selection of ice cream is pretty amazing. There's a wide variety of flavors and several dairy free, vegan, gluten free options. And their cakes are pretty amazing. We have purchased a birthday cake here twice, once pre-ordered and once out of the case. There was no difference in quality between the pre-ordered cake and the one out of the case. Both were amazingly delicious!

Some of their items are a little pricey, but we don't mind paying a little more for excellent quality. This ice cream shop is one of those local hidden gems that you don't want to miss when you find yourself in Batavia!!

This place is adorable, and their frozen cappuccinos are the best kind of milkshake thing I’ve ever tried. I’m mostly leaving a review, not only because of how tasty the thing I bought was, but because of the wonderful service I received. I didn’t catch the name of the man behind the counter, but I’m assuming it was the owner, and he was fantastic and very nice and accommodating. I cannot wait to come back and grab another frozen cappuccino and try some flavors of ice cream. The service behind the counter was what made me want to leave a review. I don’t even like ice cream that much, and I cannot wait...
