Tusk is a cherished restaurant for my brother and his family so I have had their food in take out form a couple of times before but back in January was the first time I dined in at the restaurant. It’s a cozy byob spot with a large menu offering a variety of Thai dishes.

We had a big group of 10 people that my brother called ahead for and I have to say that I was pretty surprised they were able to accommodate us on a Friday night given how busy it was throughout our time there.

The staff was on it all night so the service was very smooth from appetizers all the way to dessert. I was happy to be able to go with such a large group as we got to sample a bunch of things. For appetizers alone we shared orders of summer rolls, chicken satay, potstickers, money bags, gyo, cucumber salad and the lettuce wraps.

For an entree I ordered the Koong Kra Tiem which came with big jumbo shrimp and was really savory. The steamed vegetables were a little bland but wiping up the extra sauce from the shrimp fixed that. Other notable dishes were the basil beef stir fry my dad got and the Green Fire chicken and Thai fried rice my brothers ordered.

I really appreciate what Tusk offers in terms of food but what has made them stand out is their commitment to service and how kind they are. I’m sure my family and I will be looking forward to enjoying a meal from their...

I love Tusk!! Their Panang is the best I've had. I always order it with tofu and rice and it's by far one of my favorite treats.

I am posting this review also to leave a quick note on online ordering for anyone considering Tusk for the first time, as this caused some confusion in my family when ordering curry and we didn't realize until after making this mistake numerous times (and one embarrassing call with an employee) - you do not have to specify preferred spice level for online orders. Leaving it blank will result in the thickness/spice level you're most likely used to..... Mild comes with additional coconut milk, which does in fact make the curry milder but it also comes in a much more liquid thickness and with much less flavor.

Curry always tasted delicious when I called in the order and disappointing in comparison when my partner ordered it...... We didn't realize until much later that my partner always ordered online, and always ordered mild with extra-extra coconut milk.

Anyway, the online ordering is very convenient but make sure you know what you're ordering since you can't ask a human to explain or to make sure you're getting what you want, like you can in person or over the phone! I still feel bad about this misunderstanding (lol) so hopefully others...

We tried to eat at Tusk last night (12/27/2014). My Mother was in town visiting, and we really enjoyed the place before. We arrived about 6:30. There was one table that was unoccupied but reserved, and the rest were full. No problem. The hostess took our name and told us we could have a table where it appeared the party was going to finish shortly. She said she'd call us and we went down the street to have a drink. After about 45 minutes, we had received no call and walked back to Tusk to find out what was going on. A party of 6 was sitting at the table that had been promised to us (there were only 3 of us, so I surmise that they figured they could make more money by seating the bigger party). The hostess told us she forgot that there was a reservation. Maybe so, but I looked around the restaurant and there were a few table where people were looking at menus and it was apparent that they had been seated for less than the 45 minutes we had been waiting for the call. She said that these were reservations too. I believe she was lying to me. While the food has always been good at Tusk, we were treated very poorly. This was particularly troubling to me as we had brought an out-of-town guest...

Tusk first off has a great family and kind staff so you can't go wrong ever with that. They are a really tasty Thai restaurant option in Batavia. They do have very nice pad se ew not the best I've had but very good. Their appetizers are super great! Chive dumplings are wonderful, tofu salad option they have is amazing too for vegetarian options, the summer rolls are super fresh and light and clean. You really can't go wrong. I prefer to take out than done in since more of a cramped small space for restaurant. If you enjoy Thai food you should try all kinds of different Thai restaurants cause each one has their strengths and weaknesses that's my suggestion. Food is affordable here too.

What an absolute treat. It's in a quaint location right near downtown Batavia. The food was great. I ordered a Thai Iced coffee, which I've never had before but would get again.I had the green chicken curry for my entree, and it was easily some of the best I've had and had the perfect amount of spice. The service was great as well. It is a BYOB spot, so don't forget some booze if that's your thing. They do take reservations, and securing them is probably a good idea with how popular the restaurant is with locals.
