My brother and sister-in-law have been talking up the tacos at El Sazón for the past couple of years but this was my first time at the restaurant and it did actually live up to the hype. I ordered a cecina taco and two deshebrada tacos dorados. I like their tortillas a lot and the steak tasted great too.
There's is an interesting and different take on the taco dorado. Their shredded meat is extra juicy but has a more beefy flavor than anything else. Although I usually prefer a little tomato or chile flavor to deshebrada I do have to admit that they were still really good and the tortillas were fried into perfect crispy shells. The salsas were also all really good. They serve Modelos in ice cold mugs and my sister-in-law says their margaritas are pretty good too.
I thought maybe we were just getting special treatment from the staff because my brother's family were regulars but l noticed them being extra friendly with everyone who came in which was nice to see.
They have a decent sized dining room and our group of 6 which included a baby in a car seat were able to sit comfortably in a booth they have with an extended table. If you're looking for good tacos in Batavia then you should definitely stop...

UPDATE Luis is the reason I am boycotting this place for a while, which is sad because I love this place. I order a tray of tacos and apparently its my fault for the cross contamination. Pork and breef tacos laying directly on top of the mushroom tacos. My supervisor is Muslim and I have not eaten meat in 10 years and Luis tells me "thats just the way they come, you should've asked for them to be separate, you know for next time." Over $70 spent and Luis told me "oh well". He finally agrees to remake the mushroom tacos, but I have to bring back all 10 of the uneaten ones. He treated me like I was trying to get free food or something.
The incredibly sad part is that my supervisor loved those remade mushroom tacos so much, he has since gone to this restaurant TWICE and turned his wife into a fan. Another coworker texted me last night and asked for the address to this place. I brought you 3 new customers, but you lost me. Not sure when I'll...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOne of the better Mexican places in the area.
Iām not gonna lie, Iām a bougie Mexican guy with most of my money going to Bien Trucha or Altiro but if you need something quick and easy this is a good spot.
Thus far Iāve had several tortas, fish tacos, 1 al pastor burrito, quesadillas, and their chips and salsa. (All items were to-go over the course of 8 months)
I was super surprised with the fish tacos. Youād expect the corn tortillas to be soggy by the time you got home but they werenāt. And the flavor was pretty nice.
The salsa is perfect! Itās really spicy for a guy like me but probably medium for others. I like a little challenge in my salsas.
Quesadillas are what you should expect for their price. My mother complained about them but I had to point out she paid $3 for it so that was her fault, not the restaurantās. Especially since she could have gotten the meal of 3 for $6 more.
Tacos and burritos are standard, nothing to complain...
