We’ve gotten Fiery Crab many times in the past, however in the past 6 months the quality of our experiences have significantly declined. I am extremely disappointed with our experience tonight at Fiery Crab, and I feel compelled to share the negative aspects of our visit. The meal took an unreasonable 1.5 hours to arrive, and when it finally did, the order was completely wrong. We ordered three specials—one crawfish special with extra sausage and two extra snow crab clusters, one shrimp special with extra sausage and one extra snow crab cluster, and another shrimp special with extra sausage and one extra cluster of snow crab. What we received was a complete mess: the crawfish special was missing a crab, one of the shrimp specials had the wrong spice level with no extra sausage, and the other had only 10 shrimp (not even a pound) and was missing the extra snow crab cluster.
We addressed the issues with our waitress, Sarrah, and she was incredibly sweet and understanding, and she assured us that the missing items would be brought out to fix the issues. Unfortunately, David, who I believe is a manager, was rude and dismissive when we requested his assistance. He argued with us about the missing food, stating that “10 shrimp is equal to a pound” as he pointed to each shrimp on the plate. These shrimp were medium-sized, and the person who ordered them catches and sells shrimp for a living—so we know the weight and size of shrimp which did not equal a pound. David continued to argue with us rather than resolve the issue, and then, to our disbelief, he walked away and started talking badly about us to a waitress who was obviously uncomfortable just a few feet away. He continued to stare at our table for the rest of our time there.
After enduring this unpleasant interaction, we finally got our missing food, paid, and left. The experience was so frustrating that we weren’t the only ones unhappy. Several other tables left without paying and complained about David both inside the restaurant and in the parking lot. Apparently, he had gotten in a woman’s face earlier over a similar issue with an incorrect order.
For the price we paid, it was absolutely not worth waiting 1.5 hours for food only to receive it wrong. Fiery Crab needs to seriously address their customer service and the unprofessional behavior of staff like David. Again, thank you to Sarrah, who tried to resolve the issue and was very helpful...
Read moreI recently had a strong craving for seafood and my first thought was of Fiery Crab. Sadly, I live in Denham Springs and the one out here still isn't open yet so I took to Google to check the reviews for the two I know of in Baton Rouge. I checked the worst reviews first and, for the establishment off Corporate Blvd, the few complaints were fairly consistent.
"Rude staff. Long wait times."
Well, I decided to take the trip that day on Friday, March 18th, 2022, probably one of the busiest days of the week for most any restaurant, Fiery Crab included. There were high traffic times listed at 4:00 pm, then again it would ramp up after 6:00 pm so my sister, my son, and I set out aiming for 6:00 and due to bad traffic and side stops, we ended up arriving at approximately 6:45 pm and the place was fairly packed.
We were seated within two minutes by the lovely hostess.
By 6:48 pm, our drink orders were taken.
By 6:50 pm, our drinks arrived.
By 6:51 pm, our orders were taken by our patient, friendly waiter.
By 6:59 pm, our orders arrived.
Our order consisted of:
The 98.00 seafood platter, substituting shrimp for crawfish, adding 1 lb steamed clams, 3 blue crabs, an order of fried frog legs, and an order of regular fries (for my son who is still of an age to distrust seafood).
The platter was absolutely delicious, piping hot, swimming in garlic butter. Everything was meaty, some of the crawfish (expectedly) were a little on the smaller side but many of them were huge. Either way, everything was sweet, fresh, perfectly cooked all the way down to the boiled eggs. Two of the four corn pieces were a little wilty but still juicy and so, so sugary sweet. Two of the blue crabs was filled with delicious roe, all of them chockful of the 'butter/mustard' (the hepatopancreas), which I absolutely adore and gorged myself on immediately. Our amazing waiter popped up with bibs and gloves a few seconds after delivering our food and by then I was wrist deep in seafood, gorging my maw as quickly as my hands could break any shellfish within...
Read moreI've been to Fiery Crab on countless of occasions so to believe I've received this horrible service is unbelievable. I've called everyday since then and I have not received a call back as promised. I've left countless voicemails when I was transferred to what I was told the managers voicemail. & still have yet to receive a call back. I've giving you enough time. Each time I would call in to explain my issue I was advised the manager was Busy. I understand the manager is busy and assisting others that's currently at the restaurant but I'm a customer who has paid for the service and did not receive what I paid for. On Feb 14, 2024 I went into Fiery Crab on CitiPlace in Baton Rouge Louisiana to pick up an order I placed via phone. When I arrived I paid for the food which I ordered the Lobster Special total was $54.96. The food was for my 11 year old. My daughter initially wanted the Blue Crab special but being I wanted a lobster I upgraded it to the lobster special. I was told a lobster was $19.99 so it made since for me to get the lobster special. We arrived home 1 hour and 30 minutes later due to traffic and the lobster was not with the food. I called immediately and was advised I would get a call back. Fast forward 5-6 hours later my daughter started to feel sick vomiting and Diarrhea she became extremely weak. We bought her to the hospital to be told she had food poisoning. I've called back and advised about the food poisoning in addition to not receiving all the food I paid for and it's going on two weeks and I still have not received a call back or anything from anyone. I'm very upset and can't believe this is how you treat your customers.
Responding to the reply.. I'm not sure what number you're calling I've left several voicemails with my number and each person who answered when I called verified my call back number each time for the manager. I also pay my phone company for caller id and answer all of my calls which I have not received any calls from anyone. I have also emailed you...
