Sucré — Local services in Baton Rouge

We didn’t take pictures, but got a sample of a few different things. My husband got some gelato and loved it. We then got a piece of king cake, a strawberry cupcake, a lemon petit four, and another pastry with a honey mouse and a raspberry filling. Everything was awful, besides the gelato. The king cake was dry and hardly any cinnamon flavor, with a hard icing. The strawberry cupcake was also just a dry vanilla base with a whip cream strawberry frosting? For $8 or $9 ? And the lemon petit four tasted completely plastic and extract-y. And the other pastry was inedible also. Bummed we spent $40 here and skipped out dessert at our restaurant when we could have had something better quality. The workers were very polite and nice and it’s a Beautiful place. But that’s all it had...

Visited the evening of 10/16/25. Delicious gelato and beautiful atmosphere. Experience marred by volatile staff who had strange reaction to me accidentally ordering the wrong flavor. When I stated my error, she had a little tantrum, slamming things around and huffing & puffing. I was fully prepared to pay for everything until she cut me off when I tried to speak. She ended the interaction by dramatically tossing the item in the garbage and stomping off after we paid for our order. I would likely return except definitely don’t want to encounter this...

I’ve been a huge fan of Sucre since they first opened on Magazine St years ago. I was excited to hear of the BR store opening! Their King Cakes are the most beautiful and delicious I’ve ever had, worth traveling the hour to pick up! All of their treats are beautiful and delicious. Reminds me of the wonderful French Pastry Boutique in Paris...
