I stayed in this hotel for two separate weeks for a business related trip. While my first week in this hotel was fine, my second week started off terribly with Melody Ledet. I have never met someone in customer service who was so rude and snotty, and she is supposed to be the Guest Service Manager. Upon arriving to the hotel, my coworker and I attempted to check in as soon as possible. I was being assisted by Ms. Melody Ledet. I handed her my driver's license and my tax exemption form. Ms. Melody Ledet could not fine a "credit card approval form" for my coworker and I and refused to check us in. I explained that the previous week we were not asked for that and that our job had not mentioned we needed one. Ms. Melody Ledet claimed we had one the previous week. I asked if the one she had on file for the previous week included the dates for the current week we were staying. Ms. Melody Ledet refused to check and stopped assisting me to help another customer. Rude, right? It was after 5 and our office was closed, I decided to call my supervisor who informed me that that none of her employees in the past have needed to physically bring a credit card authorization form. My supervisor requested to speak with Ms. Melody Ledet who still seemed reluctant about providing us with any kind of customer service. My supervisor had requested Ms. Melody Ledet get her manager to help us. Ms. Monee' Bellard was very kind and very helpful with getting us what we needed and clearing up the mix up. I was very glad that she was there. I fear that we would have had to go home that night had it not been for her because Melody Ledet had already made her mind up about no longer assisting us. I attempted to reduce this to a simple mix up or misunderstanding with no hard feelings but for the rest of my time at the hotel, Ms. Melody Ledet was very offputting and rude. While the other young lady would greet me and every customer going in and out of the door, Ms. Ledet would purposely ignore me, turn her head, and not speak to me, but somehow find the words to speak to other customers coming in and out. This made for a very bad stay. Had my job not been paying for the hotel, I would not have stayed and spent a single cent. If I am ever required to travel to Baton Rouge again, whether it is business or pleasure, this will definitely not be my hotel simply because of Melody Ledet. Everyone else staffed at this hotel was great. TL;DR: Melody Ledet may be a "Guest Service Manager", but she obviously lacks customer service training. I'm not coming back...
Read moreI stay at this hotel often for business when i am in Baton Rouge. As always the room was decent at an affordable rate. Its easily located off the interstate. My room was clean and acceptable (I am picky about hotel room cleanliness). The staff was friendly as usual.
My only complaint for this particular stay was a highly intoxicated (or possibly high) man falling down in the parking lot, screaming on his phone who then entered the building to check in. It took him approximately 10 - 15 minutes of falling, yelling, stumbling, running into parked cars, running into the building etc to even ENTER the hotel. I was just arriving back to the hotel from a business dinner. The man was accompanied by a woman (appeared to be a call girl) who was trying to help him walk upright and check in. The man was slurring his words, falling over, still yelling on his phone, was unable to even see his cards to check in. (All of the activity in the parking lot was visible to staff at the front desk as he got closer to the door. I sat in my car watching this before attempting to enter the building). The woman accompanying him left him there on his own and shouted "That's it! I'm gone!". She was either unable to help him or done dealing with him. She didn't leave the hotel. She took the elevator so it seemed she had a room there. I was appalled that the staff didn't ask him to leave, calm down or even possibly call the police.
My stay was uneventful and I felt completely safe at this hotel until this incident. Once the man checked in (the whole while yelling on his cellphone) he was barely able to operate the elevator or stay upright. He had a large, bleeding gash on his forehead where he had fallen in the parking lot. Unfortunately, I was staying on the same floor as he was. He was stumbling and running into walls in the hallway. I was in my room with the door locked and I could still hear the man running into walls. Finally I heard a door slam so I assumed he made it to his room.
I am just that staff wouldn't try to get the situation under control. The man at the front desk did appear calm while dealing with the man but I just felt something more should have or could have been done. This wasn't a holiday. It was only about 10 p.m. and was disturbing to see in a place I have stayed so many times before and felt safe. I'm unsure if I will...
Read moreWent to bed at 10, woke up at 11 and smelled cigarette smoke in my 2nd floor room (my husband and I do not smoke). My husband is allergic to cigarette smoke and I had a baby with me who I don't want around smoke. Called down to the front, they "checked the halls" and smelled nothing. I told them they needed to come smell what I was talking about. She came up said oh yeah it does, let me get the smoke away. She came up and sprayed it and then said our vents should go out so I don't know why it would smell like that. (Smoking is allowed on the 8th floor.) After an hour, she finally said she could get us moved. We moved but realized we had left something in the previous room, went back and it was worse than at midnight. The smoke away didn't help. Room 206 is connected to another room. The room they moved us to was not and did not smell. They did not check the room next to us to see if they were the ones violating the no smoking at that floor. The lady at the desk in the morning did blame ventilation and said it must've come down the vents in the bathroom to the rooms on the second floor. If that were the case, more rooms on lower floors would smell and the room smelled as if I was standing in the middle of a smokers' circle. It had to have been right there and they did not fully check out the situation to see if the connecting room was violating the no smoking rule.
If you choose to stay here, don't stay in room 206 if they blame the ventilation. They didn't seem concerned enough to get that fixed if that was the case. I doubt it was though and that just goes to show its more that...
