Let me begin with, this used to be the best greek/lebanese restaurant in Baton Rouge, i ate here at least twice a week and brought all my coworkers for lunch as well, BUT now, its the last place i would recommend for anyone to go eat at. After a long time, i gave this place another shot, the last time, they served me crispy strings of gyros without any apology. My friend and I tried it for lunch a few days ago. From entering, JUST WALKJNG IN we got the nastiest look from the waitress, blonde girl. I saw her mouth to the manager that she was not going to wait on us. After he made her come to the table, she slammed the menu down and walked away. The manager ended up taking our order. The food was ok, but we were starving, i was just happy to not get string gyro. Three tables came, ate, paid and left, the manager and the waitress chatted, giggled, and cleaned up while our check and credit card sat on the table for 10 min. After this experience, i will never eat at Romans. The management does not value their customers at all. Ive watched the decline of this. They lost a...
Read moreThis establishment has great chicken shawarma salads and the portions size for the price is great. The Lebanese Tea is deliciously refreshing and the salad dressing is zesty and offers a great compliment to the meal.
The presentation is always beautiful and the leaves always fresh. The chicken is savory and cooked to chef's perfection.
I rate this 4-star because customer service is inconsistent and not much enthusiasm or motivation in the atmosphere. Also, the pita bread is inconsistent. Some days they serve the bread warm with a house blend on top of it and the next you get just regular slices. It would be great if there were an option for the way you wanted the bread. Sometimes the bread is extra firm even though they say they bake it fresh daily at the Bluebonnet location.
Overall, great taste and amount. One salad usually feeds my fiance and myself, we just order extra pita and drink some of that refreshing tea! Say what you want, I usually can't even do dessert because the salad I shared...
Read moreOn a prior visit, I would have given Roman's SIX stars, minimum, for the wonderful service and truly outstanding food my wife and I enjoyed. On the same day and time two weeks later we ordered the identical meals to replicate that enjoyment. While the wonderful service was the same, the food was a disappointment: The requested "medium rare" beef was over-cooked; the shrimp too salty; the Feta cheese salads were awash in oils; and various seasonings had been shoveled, rather than sprinkled, across our plates. Somehow, the hummus on my plate escaped unharmed. Charitably, one must assume the regular cook was out sick and the substitute inexperienced. On that basis, we do plan to dine there at least once more; however, if we again receive over-cooked food heaped with way too much spices, we will delete two stars from this rating and look elsewhere for Greek and...
