I will start with this is what Battle Creek needs. It's great for going out and enjoying the simple things. I went for the opening and even a couple weeks later and they are improving everytime. It can get packed at times so it can be a gamble if you are going to get a seat. But no worries, head back downstairs and you can find a nice lounge bar and The Alloy also including a bar with great eats!! The staff are great people and very friendly.

I have been to many upscale restaurants and this is one of the best I don’t often leave reviews but for this I had to. It’s very affordable and should be a 5 star restaurant. They have the most juicy tenderloin I’ve ever had. My waiter Tim, and bartender Windi were amazing but most of all the chef John. I have never found myself thanking a chef till now. Will come back with high hopes

The food was good, drink was okay, but the service could have been better. I don’t even know our servers name. She wasn’t super personable , seemed too busy or disinterested, and I felt like we waited a long time for the check.having said that, everything came out very quickly. I’m happy to see something like this come to Battle Creek though .

from 5 star to 1 star. 10 months ago I left an outstanding review. today I edit that. me, my wife, my son and his girlfriend come in to celebrate. we arrived at 7:15. didn't get service for 45 minutes. ordered drinks and entrees when we were finally approached. another 50 minutes beforeour food came out. 3 beef tataki and a tuna. the meat was cold (I assume because of how long it took to get tabled) but then none of the order was correct. no miso butter. no pepper flakes. just cold meat. plain bread. sauce and a flower. after a very disappointing dinner... it took another 35 minutes to get the bill (that I had to approach the bar to request) the waitress walked around aimlessly for a pretty much the duration of our stay. only focusing on the men at the bar and making sure they were supplied drinks while pretty much disregarding the other patrons at the tables. once we paid we left promptly and made the determination that what once was the best eat in the city quickly compared to the 1 star kfc here in town. we will never return after this service and it's sad to see that within less than a year that I would be re-reviewing this restaurant to the lowest rating. Last time I was in the establishment I spent will over 500 dollars. losing tim the waiter and having inexperienced cooks and staff decimated the feeling this place...

My husband and I have enjoyed the Beacon several times since their opening. We had relatives from out of state here last week and couldn't wait to show the restaurant off. We were totally shocked when we waited for over 20 minutes for the server to greet us and then another 20 minutes for drinks to be served. We decided not to order food as who knows how long that wait would be. The server was very kind and I don't think it was her fault. In the past there was a bartender that worked with the server, this bartender stood behind the bar talking to what looked like to be his friends....
