I loved Load a Spud until today, they have great prices and food, but today changed that. I got an alfredo spud with chicken and feta(we suspect one of those two were the culprit), got home and ate half of it before my stomach started hurting, I began to get violently ill and figured out it had to be the spud since I’ve shared all my previous meals with family. I would let this all go, except I called twice to warn the restaurant and was ignored once and literally hung up on the moment the second call went through. I’m really disappointed because I loved Load-a-Spud, but if they won’t even answer my calls when they’ve given me food poisoning then I have to instead make a public review when I could have let them deal with it in house.
EDIT 1: Not sure how to reply to your comment but I bought the dishes at 3:30pm the 21st (yesterday) and called at 7:45 and 7:47pm. You can contact me further at [removed email] if I can hear that steps are taken to prevent others from getting sick I’m happy to remove this review. EDIT 2: It’s been over a month and I got no reply or contact addressing any food being thrown out or cleaning being done after my food poisoning. I tested for negative for covid, norovirus and flu so we are sure Load a Spud is the culprit. Save your stomach and go...

Read moreFirst and probably last visit. Food was pretty mid, swimming in a pool of butter and microwaved in plastic dishes. You could unfortunately make better at home. Portions are absolutely massive for no good reason, makes it really difficult to just grab for lunch or something. We got two spuds and the bag weighed more than most grocery bags we get. This place is losing money, that's for sure. Atmosphere was very awkward and the two women (seemed like mother/daughter?) were just not communicating at all, girl asked her mom(?) several different questions and she just ignored her. Also asked for cheese on my pulled pork spud, and regretted it big time. Just a blanket of thick, congealed cheese across the entire dish. Really not understanding why they microwave these. Guess I should have gotten nacho cheese? Restaurant was also pretty dirty. Ladies working did not wash hands in between orders, or at all, during our visit....
