I stumbled across this quaint coffee shop recently during one of my many travels across this great land we call North America. If I could give more than 5 stars for their coffee I would. My wife and I were both taken aback by the flavor and after a few days of getting coffee here we were more than satisfied that their drinks were consistent. It sucks that we couldn't bring this place back to our fellow communist homeland to the north known as Kanata. If the last few years of lockdowns and government overreach has taught me anything it is to enjoy the small things and treasure every moment. My wife and I have taken that to heart and as we treasured the last few sips of our coffee on our journey back home we sunk into a deep depression knowing we may never have the opportunity to taste pure perfection in a drink again... Maybe. .. unless we come back. I'm not one to be dramatic in my reviews but if I were this would be the type of review I would write. Libby and her staff are world class and I am feeling sorry for myself knowing I have to drink from Starbucks and all these other awful places that pretend to make coffee. God's speed my friends. May the coffee be always in...
Read moreEvery time I've gone in for a cup of coffee, pastry and /or lunch I've enjoyed the fare and service. Yesterday morning was the exception. While I don't like giving a negative review I feel like I need to in this case. I had a bacon, egg English muffin. It had been in the case (which is fine, I guess,) but I think it was taken back and microwaved ( I thought it would be fresh to order) and the bacon turned out to be raw with the egg way over done and dry). we had ordered our food to go so I wasn't aware of this until we got home. Our drip coffee turned out to be VERY strong and nearly undrinkable. The 2 young women working that morning seemed rather inexperienced and capable of filling the order's correctly. They seemed to need more guidance. They were knowledgeable about the menu, etc. but I was a bit disappointed . I had brought my friend there (for the 1st time) singing praises for the food, coffee and atmosphere and it turned out not to be the case. I don't know what happened or why there wasn't more experienced employee's but I really hope this is just an off morning at the bistro. The pastries, etc. are lovely and delicious, though....
Read moreBAD, FOOD AND COFFEE! All their pastries taste the same with the same weird almond icing, that doesn't work. Some of there treats look like it was made from oatmeal and rocks, hard to eat on the outside all almond paste oatmeal on the inside. Then others are just made of rock flour with berries.
My crossiant Breakfast sandwich was over cooked so badly, the crossiant fell into a cloud dust the moment you take a bite. That's what happens when crossiant are stale.
The coffee could be good, but the barista was to busy talking to her coworker to care. I watched while she rushed my drinks because she forgot that we ordered coffee and she never gave it any attention. Making a good coffee takes attention to detail. She put too much syrup, she didn't mix any drink, which isn't bad but it made us drink plain coffee. I had to drive somewhere else after spending...
