Disappointing Experience at Everybody’s Brewing at Northwood, Battleground Location
We’ve always loved Everybody’s Brewing in White Salmon, WA – it’s one of our favorite spots with its warm, welcoming atmosphere and delicious food. So when we heard they opened a new location in Battleground, WA (which is much closer to us), we were excited to check it out. Unfortunately, our recent visit was a huge disappointment.
From the moment we walked in, it was clear this location wasn’t up to the standards of their White Salmon counterpart. The ambiance was off, with leftover decor from previous businesses still cluttering the space. It gave the place an unfinished, neglected feel. The staff, though friendly, seemed rushed and stressed, and the addition of a live band playing right in the middle of the dining room made conversation nearly impossible. It was loud, chaotic, and not the relaxing experience we were hoping for.
As for the food, we were let down again. At the White Salmon location, the dishes always taste fresh and locally sourced, but the food at Battleground felt bland and mass-produced. We ordered two “Big German Pretzels,” which looked nothing like we expected. When I asked the waitress if that was how they were supposed to look, she confirmed that they were and added they're handmade, but they looked and tasted like something straight out of a Sysco Foodservice bag. Every dish we had was completely lacking the freshness and quality we’ve come to love at the White Salmon spot.
We’re really sad about this, as we had high hopes for the Battleground location. Unless they overhaul the space, refresh the decor, and bring the same level of hospitality and quality food that makes the White Salmon location so special, we can’t see this location surviving in the long run.
We still highly recommend the White Salmon location for anyone looking for a great dining experience. Sadly, we won't be returning to the Battleground one anytime soon. Hopefully, they can make some serious changes, but for now,...
Read moreFor starters, it took a few minutes for someone to greet us and get us seated even though the place was almost empty on a Thursday afternoon. The seating was comfortable but this place was cold. I had to put my parka back on. It seemed like I wasn't the only one. Other people had jackets on and the wait staff was wearing double shirts. The music, like the menu, is all over the place. Heavy metal one minute, twangy country the next. The menu could use some consolidation, although I loved the simplified lunch section. Ethnicities offered were American, Cajun, Southern, British, Scottish, Polish, German, Greek, Thai, and Mexican. Can one pub really master that many parts of the world? We are suspicious that they cannot. We had the nachos with pulled pork and the fish tacos. The nachos are tasty and generous. The house made chips are awesome. The fish tacos are a bore and not a good value. It tasted as if there was no seasoning whatsoever on the fish, yet the side of beans is so populated with jalepeños that your boredom over the tacos is soon cured when you lose all feeling in your tongue. So they're 50/50 with Mexican food. Might put on extra warm layers of clothing sometime and come try a burger. Eh, might not. Besides being ignored at the front door, the service was ok. We asked for water with lemon and were presented with a mug of hot water and lemon wedges on the side. ??? Maybe the server was feeling cold too? She was slow to check back after delivering the food, but quick to take the fish tacos back when we told her we were dissatisfied. Despite the place being nearly deserted, we still had one server attempt to deliver a drink to us that wasn't ours, and never had anyone check our drinks or attempt to refill them. C'mon, pub! Drinks! 🤔😆 Bottom line, maybe start at the bar? The alcohol will warm you up and would probably make the whole experience...
Read moreThe best part was when we walked into the place. Nice atmosphere. But then it went down hill. We wanted to sample a couple of beers before we made a choice. When the samples came half were not on tap, so the waitress brought something different and said try it. I ordered the fish & chips which was battered so heavily and so greasy, I thought it was a corn dog from an Oklahoma county fair. But the fries were good. The service was so so. When my beer was gone, I waited for ever.... For 3 beer, fish/chips and a burger, it came to $58, which I could handle if the food was better or the service was better, but it was not. We will try again because things happen and I do like the place and it is local.
UPDATE So yesterday we decided to revisit for lunch. We go there about 12:15 and was immediately seated outside. By 12:25 a waiter had not came to our table. I went inside and ask the hostess if we had been forgotten. She apologized and indicated a waiter would be right out, which she was. We asked for a beer list and was told we would have to look at a menu online. There was no QR code on the table or the menu. We looked online and accidentally got a Northwoods Brewery in NH.... wrong. The waitress had left so now we are waiting again. 10 minutes go by before she returns. It's now 12:45. I order a soft drink and my wife a beer. We know what food we wish to order but had to stop the waitress from running off without our order. 12:05 our food comes and we get to eat. We waited for the bill, but gave up and decided to return inside where we asked the hostess for our bill. I short the food was fine, but service was terrible and I am not...
