I totally enjoy George's Molon Lave. The hospitality and the care by the owner is really the aspect that separates George's from the rest of the crowd . George has been there to greet and mingle with customers both times I was there. The passion for great customer care and the food he serves comes through whenever I've spoken with him. There is Greek basouki music on the TV which just adds to the ambiance. Oh...and the food is excellent. My favorite is the lamb shank ( unfortunately not quite ready last time I came) which is slow cooked in a tomato 🍅 based sauce. The lamb just falls of the bone and melts in your mouth. George has the benefit of his capable son , helping in the kitchen preparing his wonderful dishes. The restaurant is small and typically fills up at around 6 on the weekends. Handicap ♿️ doable but spaces are a bit tight in this smaller space. Parking is plentiful in this complex where the restis located although you may have to walk a bit from your parking spot. Calling the restaurant was the only frustration I had...I tried to call several times with either a disconnect or busy signal....grrr. Prices are upper middle range...I spent about $50.00 for 2 with no alcohol. I think I got good value for money spent. Final take....GO Greek , GO...
Read moreWe stumbled upon this place when we were looking for a wine bar. We saw greek wine available and we decided to give it a try. The place is family owned, like the restaurants in Greece, and at the first sip of the Greek wine recommended by George, we were transported back to our trip to Greece! The food was simple and well prepared... just like in Greece. We are foodies and have traveled far and wide for food and wine...Greece was fairly recent. This place reminded us of the 'tavernas' on Santorini, and while we ate primarily fish, fresh out of the ocean while there, the heart of food preparation was not lost on us here! George took our appitizer off our bill citing that since he was alone, or service was not what it should have been. We disagree! We felt like we were back in Greece where you are left to linger over your food undisturbed. This meal left my husband and I happily reminiscing all our trips. A much needed experience! We will bee back! I would LOVE to see tomato 'balls' [fritters] make it onto the menu...
Read moreI'm hoping it was just an off night. Owner waited on us. He was very nice and charming, but very forgetful and absent minded. We had to ask for something to drink (never brought out any water at first) and even our menus - he had thought I ordered already, and,I'm NOT sure why as there was only one other table there. I had to ask for another glass of water half way through the dinner because he never checked up on us until he left the bill. The portions were very small for the price, and the taste was slightly better than average. I had leg of lamb, which came sliced like roast beef (there was no leg). It was a bit dry but still tasted good. My wife had mousakka, it was also a bit better than average but nothing special. We also ordered hummus, which he never brought either.
In summary, this place has all the elements of a phenomenal establishment but for some reason it was a complete fail tonight. We are will to try again and hopefully have a 5 star experience like so many others have raved about on...
