I had a family get together, at Rocky’s , the same building our family has gone since the early 80’s. I ordered 5 pizzas so everyone could have our favorite. I wasn’t surprised about the crazy cost because you’re getting the reputation of being very expensive. What got everyone angry was the quality of the pizza. We were served charcoal pies, on the top and the bottom. I don’t know if you need new ovens or more attentive employees, but in reality, this was totally unacceptable. I cannot believe any person there would even dare bring that to anyone’s table. Immediately requested proper Rocky’s pizza, and I was told it would be over an hour… try keeping 6 kids under 10 waiting that long to eat.
I thought hey, maybe that was a one off, so instead of writing you off completely like the vast majority of my family, I gave it another shot… same thing. I also noticed other patrons pizza were in similar fashion, half eaten with the burnt crust picked off to make it edible.
I’ll give you props… the pepperoni heavy weight should be served with a Lipitor and a stint.. just how I like it… it’s like a lake of grease under the pizza. Taco has been good, something seems different.
What ever the case may be, I would suggest the following.
Never serve a pizza so darn burnt that people can’t eat it. Please do a deep root cause analysis and find out why this is become so common as stated by several other people. Just remember, people will silently move away from Rocky’s and never give you feedback. You can’t (burn)people pun intended, by sending out that pizza.
I know it’s not easy to get teens to drink the Rocky’s pizza cool-aid, but simple courtesies such as saying please and thank you is at least helpful. Please teach, if you are not already, to be appreciative of our business, at least say thanks for coming in. The city has grown quickly over the years, but it still has for the most part small town values, and we still value small businesses that have that small town spirit.
Plus offer a selection of good food for those who like the convenience of Rocky’s but are on a tighter budget. Sure we all can get cheaper pizza, but it tastes super cheap… something in the middle would be awesome… especially big families and teen… don’t forget all the older folks too.
I hope nothing best for you, and I hope you can change the direction in time… this community...
Read moreBuyer Beware! Last week, I brought in 4 additional parties than our party, totaling 18 people, to Rocky's in Battle Ground. They have not responded in 5 days to the email I sent them nor did they reply to the comment I left on The Reflector's recent article (too bad I didn't see this the day prior) about them trying to improve things. There were countless comments about the expensive burnt pizza so much so that the comments were deleted and shut down on that article. Yikes.
We were the first ones in at noon when they open. It took them 27mins to get a SMALL $10.50 basket of fries out and then 37mins to get out a simple half cheese/half pepperoni, sausage, and olives pizza, and 51mins to get our the taco pizza (worst I've ever had), which was a medium, not a large. Since it has lettuce and tomatoes, it isn't good reheated. That's a bummer because apparently (the menu is confusing) their 15" pizzas are $42! To their credit, they did say they'd credit us a large pizza next visit, but I'd much rather a refund. I'm not one to be wasteful and I could not finish eating the pizza after the next day when I tried to and got a second stomach ache. I had had a couple pieces of it at the restaurant and also had a stomach ache. Upon further inspection, their restaurant has had some negative points.
Pros and Cons.
Pros: Small town, local, been around a long time Unique restaurant good for large groups and kids due to the arcade Separate lounge/bar with outdoor patio area Friendly and gave credit for a future pizza
Cons: No response 5 days from emailing owners Stomach ache day of and next day Poor restaurant inspection Expensive Burnt and flavorless - the pizza must be doctored up to enjoy Hard, chewy crust Small portion of fries for $10.50 Opens late ... noon! Slow service. Food comes out intermittently
Summary: We all work too hard to spend hard earned dollars at establishments who truly do not care about customer experience and who do not put out a quality product. I hate to put this out there, but wanted to warn others. You had your chance to...
Read more25 years ago I used to work at a small PNW pizza chain where we served fresh made brick oven pizzas. Since then I have lived all over the world and have tirelessly sought a pizza of similar quality with in the craftsmanship and ingredients. I have never found on that holds a candle to to the pizza's I was looking to replicate. Rocky's executed flawlessly and gave me waves of nostalgia with their amazing pizza! It was perfectly cooked and clearly had the freshest ingredients. My very first manager once told me "The perfect pizza has a little bit of each topping in every bite", Rocky's delivered on that front as well. I don't write reviews often but every once in a while an establishments quality and service are deserving of praise. Great Job Rocky's Pizza. This trip was exceptionally special to out family as we were visiting relatives for the first time in many years. My wife use to go to Rocky's in the late 80s and early 90s as a small child. She has such fond memories of those times and those memories were delightfully upheld with out most recent visit. If you're still reading this, I know there are some opinions out there saying that "Rocky's sins the same". I can not speak to those statements directly. However, after living in 4 different countries and traveling to at least 15 different countries multiple times, Rocky's come in only second to my beloved pizzeria that I worked at as a teenager. I highly encourage you to go check out Rocky's for yourself. leave your bias at the door and go experience the climate, culture and pizza before you decide. Thank you Rocky's, I can't wait to come back.
Incase you are wondering, the pizza by which I measure every pizza in the world is: Canadian Bacon, Ground beef, and fresh sliced tomato (tomatoes have to be uncooked and put on after it comes out of the oven)
All the...
