I do NOT recommend this place. We got; 503, Flamingo, Spicy plus, Texas, Rock and roll, Tuna nigiri and Fire jalapeño. All cost $78. My complaint is not from the price of food, although it is on the pricier side. My main complain is about the quality of the food and customer service. Which in my opinion was just downright poor.
When we got our food, which we were sharing amongst the three of us. We didn’t get any side plates like most sushi places give out when sharing or were asked if we wanted any. I kept trying to get the waitresses (yes I tried with three of them) and was completely ignored. I had to go up to the cash register and ask for 3 plates which the girl placed her fingers on them. I didn’t say anything because I knew it would take longer. When I tried asking for a box and which sushi had been what I basically had to beg the girl to answer my question. She kept trying to get away. Again, we were the only customers there. This interaction was uncomfortable and awakened. The place was completely empty. It was just the three of us. The customer service should have been more attentive and friendly. If this is how it was on a Thursday @5pm when it was just 3 people I can imagine the nightmare when it is more than 3 in the restaurant.
The quality of the sushi rolls; poor. The quality of the rice was average to be friendly about it. The sushi rolls kept falling apart and we had to use our fingers several times. Several of the sushi rolls were not even wrapped in rice. It’s a sushi roll, it is supposed to be wrapped in rice. And they were completely over filled when they were wrapped in rice but the ingredients kept falling out so what’s the point? Might as well just been poke. The fish had weird smells and did not taste fresh. We couldn’t even finish our food. Which was a disappointment. Not because of the money I spent but because I was hopeful to find my new sushi joint.
I would recommend to the restaurant owners; Pay more attention to customers. A happy customer will come back. And leave a hefty tip. Spend more time on your rice and don’t overfill sushi. It should be...
Read moreBeen here twice. Def not a Sushi connoisseur but this was a new place in BG and I like to support local businesses and was up for a change. First time I figured I caught Them on a bad day as we got there at 7:00 and found out they closed at 7:30. Weren’t at all happy about us showing up, even though there was only one other table. Odd experience. They rushed us to order and through our meal. We could tell they just wanted us out of there. Food was good though, so thought I’d give them another shot tonight. This time I tried calling in a take out order at 6:30. Got hung up on twice as I was driving there. This time they were busy and only one server in the dining room. And she was on the phone taking an order LOL. Same experience. I got the feeling she didn’t even want to take my order. When she finally got to me, same short attitude. Didn’t feel welcome. After placing my order I went to sit down at the one seat at the sushi bar that didn’t have a sign on it saying “DONT SIT HERE” so that I could have a Saki while I waited. I was immediately confronted by one of the Sushi chefs…Sir, YOU CANT SIT HERE. YOU CAN SIT OVER THERE BUT YOU CANT SIT HERE”. It’s now 7:15. As I’m writing this, a couple walked through the door and was met the same way we were met last time. Server ran up and said… “Sorry we’re Closed”. A recommendation for the owners….if you want to close the place at 7:00, then change your hours and stop turning people away whobtake the time to drive there to give you their hard/earned money. Also, smiling and courtesy always help the...
Read moreAfter reading the reviews and people complaining they close briefly mid day is ridiculous to me. They close so that they can eat lunch together. They're a family owned and operated business mainly by a husband and wife and their daughter. Who work and run the restaurant 6 days a week the husband makes all the sushi and the wife and daughter are the servers so if you're complaining cuz you go here several times and their briefly closed then I have to wonder why you haven't memorized the hours at this point. I'm glad for them that they actually close it down so they can eat together and take a break. I hope they stay that way.
I've been to about two dozen sushi restaurants in the Pacific Northwest and I have not had better.
I started going to this restaurant not too long after they opened I now live 2 hours away but I make it a day trip so that I can have lunch or dinner here while I'm in town.
They are very good people and their...
