Oga's Cantina at the Walt Disney World Resort — Restaurant in Bay Lake

Fun place. If you have not been here and love Star Wars, this is highly recommended to check out at least once. This is not a surprise but know that your bill will be high LOL it is Disneyland.

Reservations required: Technically no. You can try to do a walk up but you would only get a stand up table if they have room.

FOOD: Reythan Crackers and Moss Mousse (Wheat chip with avocado mousse, salsa, lime aire) $10.50: 5 Stars – this was the weird gastropub item I’ve ever had and it was amazing! I did not think I would like it so maybe cause I had low expectations..? The cracker was so airy, puffy, and crispy. The mousse was super creamy and had the right amount of citrus to avocado. The lime aire was weird but again, surprisingly good. Garlic-Cheese Five Blossom Bread with Spicy Cheese Sauce (Warm garlic parmesan pretzel knot and chile de Arbol cheese sauce) $11.50: 4 Stars – if you lick pretzel in warm cheese dip this is for you. I will say its not my favorite pretzel cheese but its still up there. Olga’s Obsession (Minute maid lemonade, cotton candy flavor, and blueberry popping Spheres with a bursting Dried Fruit Mixture) $8.50: 4 Stars – freaking weird but in a good way? Its really like I’m not sure if I like it LOL

DRINK: Toniray, Goldschmidt Vineyards, Sonoma (Formerly produced on Alderaan, Teal-colored, refreshing Crisp style, Aroma characteristics of Green Apple and Meyer Lemon with flavors of juicy White Peach, Apricot and a hint of Vanilla) $17.00: 1 Star – I could not drink this. I passed this to someone else in my group. Fuzzy Tauntaun (Cîroc Peach Vodka, Bols Peach Schnapps, and Simply Orange® topped with Tangerine, Pure Cane Sugar, "Buzz Button Tingling" Foam) $18.50: 4 Stars – good drink, very juice forward and weird foam that was oddly good. Naboo Sunset (Layered Concoction with Blackberry Moonshine, Black Cherry Purée, Wild Strawberry Syrup, White Moonshine, Gold Peak® Black Tea, Minute Maid® Lemonade, Pear Syrup and a splash of Soda Water) $19.00: Very good and its moonshine!! Tasty! Takodana Quencher (Bacardi Dragonberry Rum, Bols Blue Curaçao, Simply Orange® with Pineapple, Kiwi flavors) $17.50: 4 Stars – Great cocktail!

MENU/RESTAURANT: I’m not a huge Star Wars fan but this is someplace I do like to visit because the vibe is great. All the drinks are premade and dispensed out on tab. It is the way Disney does it no matter where you go on property as this is how they keep everything consistent.

Menu is pretty small so don’t expect to get full from the food here. Or you can but your bill will be crazy LOL

SERVICE: Great service as...

I have a lot of pros and cons for this place so bear with me. First, I'm a massive Star Wars fan so I was up for any experience they threw at me. "Shut up and take my money!" That was me.

Like all of Galaxy's Edge, the Star Wars land this is situated in, Oga's Cantina is immaculately themed and has a lot going on to keep you interested during your visit. DJ-Rex, formerly the captain of the Star Tours star-speeder, is playing tunes and there are plenty of themed drink options as well as some snacks. The drinks have always been good on my visits and the souvenir mugs are really well designed and a must for Star Wars collectors, as are the drink coasters (collect them all!).

On the downside: If you're not a drinker (like me) it can get a little obnoxious inside, and that 2-drink limit can start to seem like too much somehow. The reservation system is also a major disappointment for most visitors. For people that are fans of the films, the draw of being able to visit a cantina in the Star Wars universe and see that motley crew of patrons is huge! But you can't just walk in. It requires a reservation and it's expected that each member of your party will be getting two drinks (at around $20 for the drinks with alcohol and less than half that without). There's also a sparse set of options for food, even calling it snacks is being generous. A drink with a souvenir mug will set you back $46.

Then there is the service style, I guess I'll call it. This isn't a criticism of the servers at all but the turnover focus style of service at many theme park establishments and it's no different here. You always feel a bit rushed, and that's compounded by the table options. In the promotional photos you get excited by those big booths like you saw Han Solo seated in when he shot first. In reality most visitors will be at standing bar tables, no barstools in the Star Wars universe apparently. You'll be right in the middle of traffic for customers and servers and if your party is small enough, you'll be sharing that with other customers (who might spill drinks on you too, long story). In addition to the two drink limit, you are also limited to 45 minutes. That should not be a problem for most guests as there is also no restroom in the Cantina.

I'd love to see this expanded and made much more casual, losing the reservation system, with walk around characters to help immerse you in the world. As it is I wouldn't have gone more than once if not for the friends I was...

I have never had such a disappointing experience at Disney till we visited this place. We are annual passholders. We had a reservation, we had come in here in the past and received a table. So when they called our name and took us to stand at the bar with our children, we asked if it was possible to get a table. They let us know it was a 15 min wait so as a family we spoke if we wanted to wait or just stand at the bar, considering the park closed soon. As we were trying to figure out if we wanted to go out in the rain again and wait longer or just stand by the bar, I overheard the bartender (5'8 white bald man with small amount of blond hair at the edges of his head) yell at one of the hosts, "If they don't want to stand here, they need to leave!" We decided to keep our standing bar seats and then the bartender asks us to move down. As we are grabbing our wet umbrellas (the host had let us know we could hang our belongings underneath the bar) to move down, the bartender again asks us loudly to move down again. As we are literally grabbing our things, he rudely throws the coasters at our family. As we said to him how rude he was being, he smirked and walked away. I have never experienced such ignorant inpatient service at Disney. I have been to Disney since I was a 5 year old girl and even visited Tokyo Disney, we love Disney but after this experience we are hurt. When we ask to speak to the manager, the manager let us talk for 2 seconds and interrupted us defending the bartender. Not even asking us which bartender we had or listening to our story. I am disappointed in the bartenders attitude to us, the employees impatience, and the way the manager tried to handle the situation. Even if it is raining outside, we are all here to have a great time at Disney. Not try to deal with employees who do not even want to be at Disney. We did not do one thing wrong except ask a question to the host. There was not 80 people in line behind us, we did not take even 1 minute to discuss if we wanted the bar or a table. Please Disney talk to your employees. If they are unhappy, hire someone else who would love to be in their position. We were not aware if we made a reservation we would be forced to...
