House of Flavor — Restaurant in Bayonne

I’m sorry but I ordered a Grilled Cheese with Avocado and tomatoes and 1 picadillo empanada and all I can say this is the worst Vegan food I’ve ever eaten!!! For this to take 30 minutes to prepare is ridiculous! The grilled cheese sandwich was not a regular size sandwich, the cheese was not melted! The empanada was super bland all they did was put the meat inside if that what they even did!!! Now I have eaten here before and it was pretty good but the vegan spots in downtown JC a far superior with the food!!! I also ordered a slice of pecan pie and it was so dry.

If the owner would have read my post correctly, I did say I’ve eaten there before and the food was pretty good but what I ordered for Slightly over $15 was the worst I’ve ever had and I’ve eaten Vegan food from Texas to NYC!! The cheese was NOT melted, the empanada was not good nor was the pecan pie! If I didn’t get this to go, I would have went to the counter and requested a refund but I was so disappointed Because I drove all the way home to the heights Was excited to dig in, took a couple bites and threw everything away because I’m not driving all the way to BAYONNE to return food, if it was $50 worth I would have called and made a complaint so instead, I vent my frustrations in a review.

once again I did not say I drove all the way to Bayonne, I was already in bayonne, Bottomline the food this particular time was not good.....end of story! Maybe i'll come in again when i'm in Bayonne and order the same thing to see if the results are the same, then I will upgrade my review but what you should have said as an owner was please come back in and lets make this right or offered a refund or a free meal the next time!!! The food is not bad but the business owner’s unprofessionalism to attack every customer who gives a less then glowing review reflects quite a bit on the ethics of his business. I do not recommend this place at all as there are way too many other vegan establishments in the area that have kind business owners, knowledgeable employees, good wholesome food and are able to exert professionalism to the point they take any negative review and apply it to their business to improve instead of attacking a customer who gives an honest review. I do not recommend.

My one-star review has little to do with your lack of knowledge on the products you sell and zero to do with Bayonne’s parking. It has to do with the childish name-calling and online bickering you continue to do with me after I posted my honest opinion.

Calling someone a “Karen” because I gave an honest review about your establishment and offered constructive criticism should be a red flag to anyone who considers coming here . I will not call names nor will I hurl insults. I’m going to maintain the review that I’ve given both on Yelp and this platform, as well. I said what I said and I’m not sorry for voicing my opinion. ALL VEGAN!!

My husband and I ate here for the first time today. It was a great experience! The decor is hip and inspiring. They played cool music. An all around great vibe! Even the other customers were very friendly. Before our meal my husband and I actually made friends with another couple and we exchanged cards!

The food was fantastic. I had the quinoa bowl. It was filling. Plenty of quinoa, beans, avocado, etc., topped with a creamy vegan cheese.

My husband had the vegan chicken parm. For dessert we shared a cake. Everything was so fresh; real quality food. I have to say my favorite was taking a few bites of my husband's chicken parm. WOW, it was so tasty. The sauce was so clean tasting. It was just the right amount of flavor, not overpowering.

The staff was very nice and accommodating. A young man who took our order bought the food to our table and offered us water. Then after our meal we started cleaning up and he said, "I'll take care of that for you."

I had to use the bathroom and another young man was so kind, he held the door open for me.
