Update (August 10, 2025): Unfortunately, my rating is dropping back to âď¸âď¸. Iâve been patient for a long time, but I need to be honest for anyone considering moving here. While BayOne is a beautiful building with great staff, the elevator situationâboth passenger and carâhas become unbearable. Weâve now reached the point where residents are taking the stairs to their apartments, with no clear timeline for resolution.
Itâs deeply disappointing to see such a major issue go on for so long without a permanent fix. Sadly, I can no longer recommend living here.
Update: From âď¸âď¸âď¸ to a âď¸âď¸âď¸âď¸ We recently decided to renew our lease at BayOne for another year, and a big part of that decision is due to the management and staff. Everyone here is great, and Iâm increasing my rating by one more star because of their hard work in making this building a good place to live.
Kwame Micah, the Director of Operations, does an excellent job managing the propertyâhe is always keen to meet with us, ensure our satisfaction, and help us find solutions to any challenges we face. His commitment to resident experience is truly appreciated.
Of course, there are still things that are beyond anyoneâs control, including some construction-related issues, but overall, BayOne deserves a solid 4-star place to live. The teamâs dedication makes a real difference, and I look forward to another year here!
Update:
Kwame Micah, the Director of Operations, is very responsive and has been doing his best to help us with our issues. I appreciate his attentiveness, even though the issues are not yet resolved. When you know someone genuinely understands and is working to address your concerns, it brings a sense of calm and makes you feel cared forâthatâs true hospitality.
âââââââââââââââ Iâve been living at this apartment complex for almost 8 months, and overall, Iâve had a fairly positive experience. There are some great things about this place:
⢠The building is kept very clean. ⢠The maintenance team is super responsive. ⢠The gym is fantastic â itâs huge and has everything you need. ⢠The rooftop area is a great spot to relax. ⢠The location is perfect â itâs at the very end of Bayonne, which means itâs close to the exit and easy to get around. ⢠The leasing team is very nice, patient, and always responsive.
However, there are also a few significant challenges that future residents should be aware of:
Parking is a major issue. The building uses a car elevator system, and itâs very frustrating when one or both of the elevators go down. Since I moved in, the car elevators have been out of service about 5 or 6 times, and currently, one has been down for almost 10 days! It can take up to 15 minutes just to use the single elevator thatâs working, which is especially frustrating considering the high cost of parking here.
The garage sometimes smells bad because of the garbage disposal near the restaurant under the building. At times, the smell can linger for days, which makes parking a very unpleasant experience.
Iâve experienced an odd issue with my water â when left overnight, it develops a green substance. I contacted the property manager, who suggested installing a filter, but unfortunately, that hasnât solved the problem. Itâs concerning, and while management says no one else has reported a similar issue, it doesnât sit right with me.
There have been instances of teenagers smoking on the rooftop and in the lounge areas. Iâve reported this twice, but it doesnât feel like enough action has been taken by management to address the problem.
In summary, I am generally satisfied with living here, but these issues â especially with parking â are pretty significant. I hope the management takes steps to compensate us for the garage fees when the parking service is incomplete but weâre still...
Read moreBAY ONE, A LUXURY APT GENUINE REVIEW We have lived in Bay One now for a little over four years, and I am going to address the good and the bad of living here. GOOD ⢠Kwame (management) is very friendly, easy to talk to, a real genuine people person guy, and addresses any situations with the apt. or tenants as soon as it is reported. ⢠Latonya (management), I canât say much about her because she keeps a low profile; the only time I see her or have an interaction with her is when she is showing a prospective tenant an apt. ⢠Jordan and Carlos (maintenance) are truly nice guys and work very hard with the limited resources they have to fix any issues in the apt. I commend these guys! ⢠The management has monthly events for residents to meet and socialize, and they are wonderful! For example, at Christmas, we are treated to a tasty and formal dinner at the new and upscale âAmericano restaurantâ, there is a game night, an ice-cream day event, a wine and dine event with live music(awesome), an Easter lunch, a St. Pattyâs Bagel Brunch, and Fitness Day! ⢠There is a weekly special for residents at the upscale Americano Italian restaurant, located on the building's first floor. ⢠There is flex pay to pay your rent in installments for a fee, if you so choose. ⢠The neighbors who get out of the apartment frequently are very friendly. ⢠The building is fairly quiet. BAD ⢠The building elevators are always breaking down, and they donât seem to know how to fix them. Right now, we are living with no working elevators and have to walk up and down the stairs. This quagmire has been going on for over two weeks. ⢠The car elevator is always breaking down, and they donât seem to know how to fix it. ⢠The ventilation system in the building is horrible, any smell of marijuana from your neighborâs apt. seeps into your apt. or even a bad smell from outdoors. ⢠There is a dust accumulation problem in the apt. because of the ventilation system. You will find yourself dusting daily. ⢠Sometimes, I believe there are more dogs than tenants in the building, and some tenants with dogs do not respect your spaces. Utility costs are expensive, especially the water bill. ⢠Security could be better if they had a part-time doorman on weekends when mgmt....
Read moreOkay so first off, before moving into this building, i went on a wonderful tour and everything was glamorized. My family and I immediately fell in love. We were promised free coffee, hot chocolate, French vanilla, etc along with snacks in the movie room and by the kitchen. We were also promised a free parking spot for the length of our lease term.. now let me tell you what happened when we actually signed our lease:
The snacks were confiscated and when we asked, we were told that the residents were finishing the snacks too quickly .. now to my understanding, correct me if Iâm wrong, is that not the purpose of providing snacks to your residents? For them to enjoy it? A few weeks later, the cups for the coffee machine were then confiscated also and the management put up a sign that said they were âgoing greenâ which we fully support but are they really? No, because the cups were just moved to another hidden area where only the management have access. For residents to be paying so much money to live here, why are petty things like snacks and coffee cups being confiscated? A huge turn off but wait, thereâs more. The parking spot that my family was promised was given to another resident and when we spoke to the management about this, they gave us the run around and told us that theyâd have to reassign our spot.. okay cool, we get a new spot and low and behold, another resident was parking there too and i went back to management and notified them and they reassigned my spot for a second time. How unorganized!
I really love the building itself. Itâs gorgeous but if they could fire the entire management team and hire new staff, it would be much much better. The staff are super rude and unaccommodating and to be spending this much money and then treated this way...
