I am never returning here and I would highly recommend finding another business to do blood work with. They completely botched drawing my blood and left me with an 8 inch bruise the following day.
Scheduled an appointment online and was called for about a minute after arriving. However, that isn't the issue.
To preface, I do blood work regularly and have never had any complications. My veins are visually apparent and can be easily felt when palpating—I've even received compliments from various phlebotomists. The person who drew my blood seemed completely negligent. After failing to find my vein, they just used the visibility of my vein to stick the needle in. Not only did they go too deep, they didn't make a clear connection with my vein.
It was excruciatingly painful (I have never had any issue whatsoever with pain in the past 20+ times I've had blood drawn) both during the draw and after the needle had been removed. Instead of removing the needle and trying again the tech REPEATEDLY MOVED THE NEEDLE AROUND INSIDE ME.
The day of, I got random jolts of pain any time I used my arm. Now, the day after, I am dealing with a full arm bruise and tenderness. For reference, the most bruising I have ever had in the past is about the size of a dime and I have never had any lingering pain. I understand being inexperienced but there is a difference between inexperience and plain awful technique mixed with negligence. Needless to say, I am never...
Read moreI would like to speak with someone further. We visited the Baytown Tx location for my 2 year old son to have blood drawn. The nurse was cold and uninviting. I asked her about our quest insurance through my husband‘s company and she disregarded the inquiry then she said we would wait for another nurse to come in and help since he is too, and I am nine months pregnant. He was sitting on my lap. The next thing I know she asked me to hold his wrist quick and she put in the needle, I was not prepared and it was very chaotic. He ended up squirming, and it was painful, and he was poked. Additionally, she was very frantic and frustrated as if it was my fault And the other nurse came in trying to help with the situation. My son was very much in distress, she continued to wanna try again with the other nurses help we tried. She was able to get one vile, and then he started moving and she pulled it out and was not able to complete the Blood draw. It was very traumatic and there was very little compassion and we were told we’d have to come back and try again. I am extremely satisfied and will take my business elsewhere. I do think that this was handled very unprofessionally and should be addressed by management at the...
Read moreI’ve been here in the past and i’ve noticed a huge change over the years with this company. Came for a three hour glucose test and noticed a couple frustrated people, but if you make an appointment and bring everything you need to bring (ID, Insurance card, money, lab sheets if you have them) and come within the appointment time and check in at the kiosk with your QR code they’ve sent, you get called back right away. It’s when you don’t make an appointment that you’re waiting hours to be seen. Saturdays are for walk ins, but expect to be there for awhile. Also if you’re not sure about the procedure process call and ask beforehand or physically go up and ask if the lines are busy. If you have a drug test don’t bring your kids. If you have a fasting test ask when you start your fast. If you’re a minor make sure you bring a parent or guardian because they’ll need to be with you to consent for you. Any questions ask beforehand they’re glad to answer them. The ladies are super sweet and will get you in and out, and also really good at finding...
