I've seen reviews on this place and seems amazing , food looks good, but when i went there, they had no one outside, no menu , nothing , i thought' hmm weird', pictures i saw on google reviews everyone is outside eating , so i thought id give this BBQ place a try. I guess i went at the worst time on 4th of July weekend, why wouldn't i get any service? Google said it was open and it wasn't late. Young lady in the small shack with a window near the store fronts made zero effort to tell me what they were selling, twirling her hair around , place has no amusement or menu to look at.
The guy selling hot dogs and other food around the block outside on the sidewalk of ship bottom brewery was more enthusiastic about selling food and telling people what he has. First off i walked up and saw someone in the window, i thought how cool i could walk up she can take my order like any other normal place right? She told me to look at menu online and said nothing else, didn't say "hey walk in here" or "you can come with me here", like any server or worker would advise their customers to do so.
Besides, i genuinely didn't know if i can walk into the place and sit down because like i said, zero presentation or welcoming to there even being a food BBQ place there other than pics on google. Afterall i walked away, looked at menu on my phone for about 5 minutes, i came back and she told me "sorry we are only doing catering today" why didn't she tell me that beforehand when i first walked up? Like you watch me sit down ,watching me look at your menu on my phone then watch me walk back up and tell me its catering only? Meaning that i can only get foody if i pre order $500 worth of food, like why couldn't i just give them my order right then and there and wait for my food, jump through all these extra hoops to get simple BBQ.
Very confusing layout for the place , almost like a speakeasy in nyc, They have an entire sitting area outside with zero people sitting down no business logo sign. and music blaring awkwardly loud with no menu for people to look at from a distance. i guarantee the food is probably good Maybe i came at the wrong time, 4th...

Couldn’t decide which meat to have… so we ordered the three meat platter with three sides. Plus added one more.
Platter included spare ribs, pulled pork and brisket.
We got the baked beans, Mac & cheese, coleslaw and added cornbread as an extra side.
The platter was huge and plenty for two. We got 4 spare ribs, large portion of pulled pork and 2 hearty slices of brisket.
My favorite was the spare ribs. Very tasty with the KC sauce.
The brisket was good but was not thinly sliced. Although Definitely delicious.
The pulled pork was good… seasoned with plenty of black pepper… not my favorite
The sides were also delightful. Coleslaw was fresh, Mac and cheese 🧀 tasty… my favorite was the 🫘 beans… they added brisket to the beans.. omg delicious!!! Cornbread was right out if the oven.. 🤤 yum…
They gave us all 3 sauces.. Carolina mustard, Alabama white and KC classic. For me the KC was the best… my friend liked the Carolina mustard more so it depends on your taste buds.
We then ordered a 1/2 rack of ribs to take home.
Waitress was very friendly and helpful. Definitely a go to when I’m in...

From the moment I walked into Iron Oak Barbecue Company in Beach Haven, I knew I was in for something special. The aroma of slow-smoked meats — hickory, white oak, cherry wood — hit me right away, and every bite lived up to the promise.
The brisket plate was a standout. Perfect bark, smoked for hours, rich and tender without being greasy. The pulled pork was just as impressive — juicy, flavorful, and clearly done right.
The honey butter cornbread might be the best I’ve ever had — thick, slightly crisp on the edges, and slathered in warm honey butter. The sides were no afterthought either: creamy mac and cheese, smoky brisket pit beans, and coleslaw that actually had crunch and flavor.
What really pushed it over the top was the selection of house-made sauces — each one bringing a different angle, from sweet and tangy to bold and spicy. You can tell they take their craft seriously.
Staff was friendly and quick, and the setting inside Schooner’s Wharf gives it a great local, beach-town vibe. You can taste the care and technique in every bite.
If you’re anywhere near LBI, this is the BBQ spot you don’t want to miss. I’ll...
