Beach Bites LBI — Restaurant in Beach Haven

Our group of 5 decided to try this place for the first time tonight. Glad we did. Started with fried pickle slices and mozzarella sticks, both very good. My nephew and I had the tacos, tuna for him and shrimp for me, also really good, both with coleslaw and pickled onions and an avocado sauce. Cilantro, too, for those who like it (not me!l. Really liked having the black beans and rice together in a little crock, and the seasoning for those was great, not blah but not overly salty either. My sister and brother-in-law had the steak sandwiches, which came with crinkle cut fries, my favorite ☺️. They were both very happy with their choices. They both are super fussy, so that's high praise. My friend had the Italian hot dog, it also came with the crinkle cut fries and was more then he could finish (as were my tacos). Fountain drinks came with free refills. There is seating both inside and out; we chose to sit at a picnic table and observe the Beach Haven nightlife. Highly recommended on a clear summer night. Great new little spot! Had a late lunch with delicious food. The salad was made fresh to order with crisp lettuces not just iceberg, fresh juicy cherry tomatoes and red onion and I added shrimp which were so good! My friend was so happy to see a turkey burger on the menu and side of sweet potato fries. Lots of other great items on the menu too! Everything was delicious! They also offer GF buns! The prices were very reasonable also!! The owner Pete was very friendly and engaged in conversation with us. The place is clean with a local friendly vibe with 4-5 tables. Our family stopped in for lunch this past weekend and the food was amazing. The staff was congenial and hospitable. Most of them time when you're coming in from out of town, its difficult to avoid the "tourist traps," or the fast food places. We've not been coming to Beach Haven for long, but we love the beach there and enjoy it over OCMD. This isnt a tourist trap, and the food has a home cooked taste, but at the speed of fast casual dining. The Chicken Italiano was great. The meatballs were really on point too.
