Meyer Ace Hardware — Local services in Bear Creek Township

As a business owner in the area, I used to spend thousands of dollars in this store annually and on occasion I'd spend over two thousand dollars in one trip. Over the past few years this has been changing. Service went way down and nobody seems to care anymore. In my last trip to this store I was confronted by a tiny little man with a big chip on his shoulder. I am not able to wear a mask and this was unexceptionable to him and he told me to get out of the store. This is a direct violation of the law and I was extremely angry. I've had issues in other stores but they followed the law and accommodated me by getting what I needed for me and bringing it out to me. This little man just had a huge fit and kicked me out and the other staff member in the area at the time was very rude as well with parting comments. Neither of these people were wearing their masks properly and it was absolutely ridiculous. I was there to purchase a unit that costs $1,800 and I would have bought extra chains and equipment to go with it. Now I'll never be a customer again. Congratulations Ace Hardware you lost multiple customers over this as I will no longer be bringing my employees in with me to get...

Stopped by today to BUY a zero turn mower. I hung around outside looking over the units, while waiting for someone to assist me with a PURCHASE! Nobody seemed interested in helping, so I went inside to find a salesperson. Since I was shopping OUTSIDE, i did not have a mask with me. When I went inside, I was confronted rudely by a manager(?) telling me I had to wear a mask in the store. I told him that evidently they didn't need my business. He agreed. What a poor example of "Petoskey Hospitality". If this is how they treat "locals", I can't imagine how they treat our "summer friends". I would not recommend this group of ACE hardware stores (Meyer). Make the trip to Cheboygan, Charlevoix, or Boyne...

Outstanding customer service. I had been to this store a handful of times before and have always been impressed with the product selection and service, but after a recent home purchase close by, now I know for sure it can’t be beat. Several trips within a few days for the never ending projects and each trip was somehow better than the one before. We are in love with the Benjamin Moore paint and so grateful to Will for all his help with getting it. And we found everything we needed for every other project too (from floor leveler, to wood shims, to washing machine drains, and on and on. If you think they might carry it, the probably do… and someone kind and patient will help...
