We visited some friends out in the sticks and decided we would head to the local town to get a meal for new years. Being in the city we have a plethora of varieties of cuisines and ambiances to choose from. So, when someone suggests a place in the nearest town, you don't set your sights very high.
I for one love it when I am wrong. First thing I noticed when we all arrived was the Lamborghini Crossover sitting in the front parking lot. When we walked in it was nicely done, with great lighting, and a beautiful Christmas Tree in front to where we took a few pictures. One of the owners insisted that she would take the photos for us.
The waiter we had was delightful (Forgive me, but I am terrible with names. He was a small gentleman with a bald head.) and he was very knowledgeable with the menu. He provided us with a service I have only found in very high end restaurants. Drinks were always full, had great recommendations, we wanted for nothing, and his presentation of the wine was again first class.
The food, from the start of the bread provided was soft and delicious. The cheese garlic bread was crispy and also delicate served with a delicious marinara sauce. The fried ravioli was crispy but also not tough, with a delicious cheese and spinach inside cooked to perfection. This was also served with the same delicious marinara sauce. The entrees we had were (the special) the Veal Chop with homestyle mashed potatoes; The Red Snapper, and the Lobster Ravioli. The Veal was definitely the crowd favorite. Cooked to a medium doneness and a savory grilled crust on the outside. Really tender and full of flavor. To top it off there gravy that was also used in combination with the homestyle potatoes was very good. The Snapper was cooked perfectly and not dry. While the Lobster Ravioli didn't live up to the thought it would, it was also very nice.
The bar is a very nice atmosphere with some selection of some nice spirits. Nothing great, but they should have something that will fit your tastes. I had a nice Balvenie Scotch (highly under rated) and my friend had an Angel's Envy whiskey. In my opinion this is the only knock I could find, but it's just me being picky at this point. I would have like to seen more selection of bourbon's and whiskey's.
The prices are not going to break the bank and overall it was just tremendous. From start to finish. This place is a Gem hidden among a small town between a clinic and across from a nearby Lowes. if you have not been. I would highly recommend and would travel out of my way to experience again. I would recommend you set a reservation as well. Ya'll be good and stay...
Read moreMy husband and I decided to come here for the first time for our wedding anniversary, and we were promptly sat. Our waiter was called Malcom, and he immediately took it upon himself to make us feel not only welcome, but educated as well. Our waiter made excellent recommendations. He was very patient, and answered any questions we had. He left our menus with us with it being our first time there in case wanted to continue to look it over, and showed us the lunch menu for other days we may like to come. We had appetizers, main courses, desserts. My husband had a drink, and drank one for me because I am pregnant. The food was amazing, but honestly, the service we received was the best part of it. I have never had a waiter that was so attentive. I recall telling my husband everytime that Malcom walked away that I love him. used dishes never stayed on our table. our cups were never empty. and he spoke to us like we had all been family friends over the years. When he brought our desserts, he put a candle in each one in celebration of our anniversary. Yet. He didn't know us. And how hard it was for us to be there. What he didn't know was that when we came, it was two days after our actual wedding anniversary but the day of, we lost my sisters baby in the hospital. And almost lost her in the process. This was our first at doing something normal. Our first attempt at a celebration of our anniversary, despite everything that has been happening around us. And for that moment, we were just a couple in love, sitting at a restaurant, feeling welcome by a server named Malcom who helped us to briefly forget the world around us.
So this review is for him. Malcom at Bruno's Italian Kitchen. The server who made our night more special than he could possibly know, without knowing extenuating circumstances, just because he is that kind of person. So if you go to Brunos, ask for Malcom. He will take care of you and make your experience amazing no matter how you look, what you wear, and it will...
Read moreHaving only been here twice, Bruno’s is kinda hard to pin down. They seem a bit laid back and hometown but can also be a bit formal at times. I think it’s however you want to perceive it. It’s a somewhat sprawling venue with a formal greeting area, a few partitioned open areas, a nice little bar area. It’s certainly interesting to say the least, especially for Beaumont. Apparently there’s an upper area that is reserved for special occasions. There was something I read on their front door about reservations for Valentine’s Day and it referenced the upstairs area so I’m guessing it’s a bit quieter than the main dining areas, more romantic I’m sure.
I didn’t know it at the time but we were greeted by the restaurant owner who found a nice booth location for us. We’re very particular about our booth seats. Out waiter, Alfredo, had arrived promptly after being seated and was very attentive and cordial throughout the visit.
They have a great selection of all that you can expect from an Italian restaurant, maybe not an exhaustive menu of everything you know about Italian food, but you should be able to find a great appetizer, entree and dessert. They have a significant wine selection that I can’t really comment on as I’m not as familiar with what is preferred but there are many from which to choose.
I chose a ribeye steak with angel hair Marsala. It was excellent. Their bread with oil and herb mix was nice and fresh. Their house salad dressing was a familiar tomato vinaigrette but even better than the other local joints have offered. The tiramisu was also a perfect complement to the meal.
I’ve been here twice now and both times have been quite pleasant. I will be coming here more often now that my main local Italian restaurants closed down. Bruno’s hadn’t done anything wrong for me to not consider them as my main place beforehand, they had just opened after the fact so, here we are and thanks...
