I was at Mario's Woodfired Restaurant back in April. It is located on 3rd Street in Beaver which is such a beautiful, quaint and scenic town. My lunch group consisted of my daughter, myself and two others. Two of the people in my group had eaten here before but this was my first time. The restaurant has a cozy feel to it as it is nestled between many other businesses that line the street. The first thing I noticed on arrival was the outdoor tables and chairs that looked like a nice little cafe type of setup. It was a gorgeous afternoon and people were eating outside. We were quickly seated inside the crowded restaurant which isn't that large or roomy. I ordered the gnocchi and meatball which was just okay. The spaghetti sauce had a different taste to it but it was definitely edible. My daughter ordered the chicken marsala which was a very big disappointment. The sauce was as thin as water and tasted watery also. I know the chicken marsala did not get eaten. I also tasted it and didn't like it all, and that is my favorite thing to eat. Another at our table enjoyed a pizza. I thought it was decent. The last one in my group ordered something like shrimp ravioli, which they really enjoyed. The waitress was just fine. Average. I believe we had to pay extra for rolls/bread, salad and something else that eludes me at the moment. Personally I think it is a real turnoff when for example you go out to dine and try to have a chill experience and everything you order is a quarter more for this and a dollar more for that...Petty... Just tell me the final price. Don't nickel and dime me over everything. So when the waitress asked if we needed take home containers or foil...I had to ask her how much extra it would cost us. Personally I will not be returning to dine there. I thought the food was subpar and overpriced. I appreciate the fact that it is a dry town. I guess it's also nice that you can BYOB if desired. The business is laid out in such a way that it accommodates a person in a wheelchair, however, it is a small place that is very cramped and crowded. I certainly wouldn't want to have to try to maneuver a wheelchair there. There is adequate free street parking right outside the door. Overall it...
Read moreHave never been treated more unprofessionally in the service industry. We came to celebrate a new job and enjoyed a nice meal and some wine that we brought. Immediately following finishing our meal we were told we reached our time limit and had to leave. We explained that we were wrapping up and waiting for our ride. We watched the manager, owner, and host talk loudly about us. The owner then rudely told us we were ordered to leave. He shouted that we were waiting his money and we must not “give a shit” about his business. When I said that I would probably never come back he said that he didn’t need business from customers like me. He proceeded to approach us at the front door as we waited where he said he didn’t need 22 year olds telling him how to run a business. Have never been treated like that after politely and peacefully enjoying a meal. I don’t recommend this place and would suggest give business to other small business owners as this man clearly only views his customers as money and wants you out of there asap. All of the hostess staff were embarrassed of this grown man’s behavior and anger towards two...
Read moreMy husband and I tried Mario's Woodfired Pizzeria for the first time yesterday. We've lived 5 minutes away for the past 15 years and have no idea why we hadn't before. After our experience, we will DEFINITELY be back and, hopefully, often! Yes, it's loud in there but it wasn't really a bother to us. We had the bruschetta as an appetizer and it was so good! That can be hit or miss at places and this was a hit! I had the Gnocchi Gorganzola with Shrimp and my husband had the Linguini with Mussels. Both were delicious though he kept stealing my gnocchi! The portion size was generous enough, however, that I still brought some of mine home! Our server, Jaden, let us know in advance that, during our visit, there were some computer issues and that all the tickets were being created and filled by hand. She forewarned us of possible delay. I find that to be excellent service to keep one's customers informed like that. Despite her concern of slower service, however, we did not notice lapse in expediency. 5 stars are duely earned by both the establishment and Jaden. (I'm sorry if I'm spelling your...
