I am very knowledgeable about buffets, esp Indian. Jeet is a truly awful restaurant. Firstly, the food is VERY SALTY. Even if you order a la carte, they won't make the food without salt even though every other Indian restaurant does. That's how difficult (or maybe lazy?) these people are. Wake up! High blood pressure is a GLOBAL EPIDEMIC.
On a different note, the buffet was and is over priced, and the selection is always lame no matter what day you go. On the buffet, put good veg entrees (such as bhindi) instead of the typical cliche dishes (eg chana masala, mixed veg, saag, etc.). Put good desserts on the buffet too such as ras malai. For what you charge, you need to do a lot better. For the customers who might think that the buffet is good, they don't know any better. Perhaps they ought to go to India and learn about Indian food.
There are so many other better buffets in the Dayton area. Jeet owners probably know this, which is why they (eg Lakhwinder Singh) felt the need to submit an illegitimate review of their own restaurant. A restaurant with integrity would never do something so shady. Shame on you.
Reply in response to Jeet:
Everything about my review was factual. You are just mad that you got caught being dishonest by posting at least one fake review. Perhaps there are more. I let your crappy food slide for a long time and gave you many chances to improve, but you guys are arrogant and refuse to make any real changes. Also, you are being dishonest again by now alleging that you make your food to order. The reason why you are unable to make food the way people want even when ordering a la carte is because you do NOT truly make the food to order. This statement is not coming from me. This is what YOU have repeatedly said eg the food is prepped ahead of time. Another example of blatant dishonesty: you have "never heard a complaint" that your food is too salty?? What nonsense. Various customers have told you this in person and online long before I posted this review. If you have not "heard" this, it is because you are burying your head in the sand. Of note, salt and spice are not the same thing so reducing the salt does not mean you need to reduce the spices unless of course you are using lazy pre-made package mixes which combine salt and spices.
As for your buffet, you claim to rotate dishes, but that's not really true. Your buffet always has the same lame dishes. Other buffets have good veggie entrees (not the cliche dishes of saag or mixed veg or chana or aloo XYZ), lamb, good desserts, and fresh fruit.
For what you charge, you need to do A LOT better.
Your food, including the buffet, is always salty. Buffets should be inclusive and cater to everyone -- not just people who want salt. If people want more salt in their food, they can always add it to their own food at the table. However, once the chef adds salt to food, it cannot be removed. Cheap food is salty. Quality food is not salty because the ingredients speak for themselves. Plus, salt is really bad for health, and you are essentially forcing salt upon people.
Shame on you guys for multiple reasons. Instead of introspecting and apologizing for poor food, poor service, dishonesty, and poor reactions, you deflect responsibility and accuse me of targeting you. Again, a restaurant with integrity would never exhibit any of these poor behaviors. More food for thought: if the people were satisfied with your food, your service, etc., then more and more Indian restaurants would not be coming...
Read moreWe went to this place after visiting US Air Force Museum. Right from start I really hated this place, we choose Buffet as they were serving it that time.I took chicken tenders & tomato soup for appetizer. After one sip of tomato soup I kept it aside and tenders I couldn't eat too coz they were bit like frozen and didn't taste well. Roti and chicken curry is fine, that's the one star for. We were shocked to see they didn't serve Biryani on buffet, of all the Indian restaurants I have been in USA, I haven't seen a single place that didn't serve biryani. For the dessert we liked Rasmalai Kheer, rice kheer sucks though. I would have given 2 star but I don't feel they are worth it coz of the staff behavior. We were like 4 guys along with my friend and his wife and kids, there were like 10 plates on the table that needs to be removed, they removed only 1-2 of them, service was very cheap inspite of enough amount of staff working there and you know what, this tops all! One of the employee got us the check even when everyone of us were still eating(not even dessert time), we didn't asked for a check and usually in any restaurant they would ask if you want to a separate check or one for everyone, they asked nothing and the guy just threw the check at us while we were eating. I had to pay 8 bucks and come half stomached. I wouldn't really recommend anyone to try out for a...
Read moreI can only give 4 stars, but I'd like to give it 4.5. I come here maybe once a month - mostly take out but also dine-in.
There's not a lot of smiling and they seem to keep their conversations with the customers limited - this could be because their accents are heavy and they know some customers have a hard time understanding them, so they avoid talking in general. I honestly don't know, I've never asked. Customers should keep in mind the staff might not be rude intentionally, but simply not adhering to social customs in the States.
That being said, the food is delicious. Not everything on their menu is spicy and how spicy the items are on their spice scale (1-5) varies from day to day (or cook to cook). Sometimes when I order a 3 on the spice scale I'm dying for milk. Yet other times when I've ordered a 4 it's like there's no spice in it at all. However, it's almost always delicious.
When I dine-in the staff is attentive, the atmosphere is nice, and they've never rushed me out the door. It is a bit "pricier" than other places, but keep in mind they're using ingredients that aren't all that common here.
I recommend...
