I've been to a couple of these places like the Centerville location and this one looked like it would be the best but honestly it was worse in a lot of ways. First off the food was decent but just like the other places the buffet itself is very poorly explained. They lay a metal bowl in front of you with a card and a pencil and send you on your way. Now what they want you to do is fill out the card for base rice or noodles then put the ingredients in the bowl at the buffet line but trouble is this isn't clear at all. I sat and watched as people struggled to grasp this and entered the wrong way. Makes more sense to grab the bowl at the start of the line itself and tell the cook if you want rice or noodles and that would cut confusion down significantly. Other issue is price. 2 people was 75 bucks.....that's absurd. 32 bucks a piece not factoring in drinks?! Look the food simply isn't worth that. There's more than the other locations but it's fried cheap stuff and I saw like 2 expensive things like macarons and this raw caviar fish but both weren't good. Lastly, the staff has got to stop with the staring and hovering. I really don't know if this is a cultural thing but I've experienced this at other asian buffets including the Centerville location. You can argue they are clearing plates but in reality they are making sure you aren't taking more than they deem reasonable and also making sure you aren't taking stuff home. This is of course horrible because it's hard to enjoy yourself when you are being stared at constantly. I literally saw my waitress taking a tally on how many times I got food. For the price it isn't acceptable to not be able to have a take home container and it's beyond annoying to try and look at your phone only for the waitress to beeline over and try to take your plate as soon as you aren't actively eating. I literally had to pretend to eat so she would stay away. Also, if I wanna take home food on the down low I have and will so the incessant staring does nothing except make me wanna take more home and regardless I PAID FOR IT! If a few take home containers are going to shut down your business then you guys need to hang it up. This place...
Read moreWas I think 26$ for dinner buffet per adult, I want to say had about 20 or so different pieces of sushi available, had a hibachi area you could put your own veggies and meats etc and starch choice up to get made and they bring it to your table once it’s done, has miso soup available as well you can put your own seaweed and tofu etc in, has dessert including a few different Icecreams and a good selection of little cakes and puddings to grab like a coffee and also a mango cake I enjoyed, have side dishes like teriyaki chicken sticks or teriyaki beef, had singular ribs to grab and a few other things, also have boba available for about 7$ which was a good taste (I got the mango green tea with mango popping pearls) but I feel a couple dollars too much or at least I wish the size was a bit bigger for the price
Personally the things I enjoyed are the mango and coffee cake, the hibachi, the miso though I wish the soup had a stronger flavor it was a bit watery, the raspberry ice cream, the fruit, and the teriyaki chicken stick
I didn’t enjoy the rib unfortunately was very much lacking in that meaty flavor you want, I also tried the chocolate cake, the Oreo cake, and the Oreo pudding but those ones may have been sitting there longer than the others because they were kind of stale at the time and the tops of the icing etc came off the cakes so wasn’t super appealing to me
I enjoyed it here overall I think improvements would really just be to either improve on some of the side dishes they have or replace them altogether and also would like a bigger variety of sushi, I think a good bit of the sushi is spicy versions of other ones and I wouldn’t say that was at least the taste of our group going when I want sushi I just want it to have a good flavor, and making sure some of the things sitting aren’t...
Read moreService was outstanding and the place was clean and nice. Came for lunch on a Wednesday and paid $21.99 not counting drink and tip.
Hibachi was good--above average, but I've been to better places.
Sushi was good, and the variety of it was ok. I thought the taste of the sushi wasn't as good as it could have been. I've had better sushi at supermarkets where they prepare it on site.
I didn't like how all the other dishes (which was a very wide variety) were all on small plates or wire baskets with typically only one item (for example, one crab rangoon). So if you want several of one item, you are grabbing multiple plates or baskets. Even for the Genersl Tso's Chicken, each small plate only had three small pieces of chicken on it. Would have preferred to have it in a bowl, where I could have scooped up what I wanted. Quality of the small plates that I tried ranged from good to very good.
Wide variety of desserts--far more than your typical Asian buffet--but I saw only two that interested me. Both were good. Also saw that you could get a cup of ice cream (vanilla, chocolate, or strawberry). This was not soft serve, but kept in a freezer. Had various ice cream bars...
