Bleu Wave Seafood Boil & Pho — Restaurant in Beavercreek

The service here was really disappointing. We waited several minutes just to get seated—even though the place was completely empty. Once we sat down, it took 15 minutes just to get our first glasses of water. When we needed refills, it took another 15 minutes, and the staff seemed more interested in their phones than in helping customers.

The food didn’t make up for it either. It was clearly frozen seafood, which is not something you should be paying premium prices for. I ordered the fried rice—it came in a small plastic container for $17 and had only two pieces of in it. The portion was tiny and way overpriced.

To top it off, one of the larger legs was ripped off my crab cluster, which felt like a way to cut corners on weight. That kind of thing really leaves a bad impression.

The decor was actually decent, and I’d give the atmosphere around three stars for the decorations alone. But unfortunately, the workers’ attitudes and the poor quality of the food completely ruined the experience.

Was looking for a seafood place and saw this in the suggestions, so after a long day I just went for it. Vietnamese and Cajun seafood boils is a hard combination to say no to. Crab, crawfish (yes, crawfish in Dayton), and shrimp made for a heck of a meal. Medium spice on Cajun flavor gave a decent bit of heat without being too much. Thought the seafood quality was quite good. And yes, you will need the bib and gloves here, it’s messy. A good messy, and while it is a bit expensive because seafood, it’s worth it as an occasional treat. The Vietnamese options are significantly cheaper and I’ve been told the pho is good. Will be back at another point where I really want something special, and seafood boils count as special in my book.

This was the best seafood boil I have had so far. The waiter was attentive and kind while still giving myself and my husband space. We were allowed to try seafood boil sauce samples to make our decision as well. The special bleu wave sauce is phenomenal. I’ve never liked a seafood boil house sauce until now. The bathrooms were clean and the general restaurant was as well. The atmosphere and music was soothing lofi music and not overbearing or overly loud. They even gave me a free cheesecake slice for my birthday. All in all was an amazing experience and we will be back. Exceptional service and food....
