My fiancé purchased a diamond and pearl ring for me from this store about 9 months ago, and unfortunately, it has been a consistent source of frustration. Within that time, we’ve had to bring the ring in for repairs approximately four times due to repeated issues with it breaking. Despite following all care instructions and treating the ring gently (removing it when sleeping, avoiding water, and being cautious) it continued to fall apart. Diamonds even fell out at one point, which indicates poor craftsmanship, not misuse. I understand pearls are delicate, but this level of damage is far beyond what is reasonable. Altogether, I’ve only been able to wear the ring for maybe three months total since he purchased it.
Eventually, after multiple failed repairs that seemed to involve little more than glue or hasty patchwork, we requested a refund. While the staff was friendly at first and stated that the refund process would take about two weeks, it has now been over five weeks with no follow-up. I’ve called the store multiple times and am repeatedly told that either the manager isn’t available or the employee handling my case is out or unable to take the call. It’s becoming increasingly difficult to get a straight answer, and the tone during calls now often comes off as impatient or dismissive unless I happen to speak to one of the two specific people involved in the case.
At this point, I’m just disappointed with the entire experience. While I know others have had positive interactions with this store, mine has been extremely frustrating. I would not recommend purchasing any jewelry with softer stones like pearls here, and based on the lack of communication and unreliable repairs, I can’t confidently recommend the...
Read moreTerrible customer service. My husband purchased my wedding band from the Ashcroft & Oak that used to be at Kenwood Mall. After a few years, the band broke and was in need of repair. We had moved out of state so when I was back in town 3 weeks ago to visit family, I took my ring in to get in repaired under the warranty and shipped back to our out-of-state home address.
From the very beginning, the two girls who helped me in the store were completely clueless, making me extra cautious and worried about the destiny of my ring once I turned it in. I paid for the ring to be shipped and insured (USPS nonetheless which is so backwards for such a precious item) and the manager told me it would be expedited and sent returned within a week or so. I was called two weeks later and told that my ring was ready for pickup. When I called back to point out that it was supposed to be shipped, again they were clueless. Eventually I spoke with the manager who promised to ship it the next business day and send me the tracking information. A week and a half after that promise was made, I still had no tracking information or update on the whereabouts of my ring so I called back. The manager told me that some news had been announced the previous week and she totally forgot about my ring. I then proceeded to say that I couldn't imagine anything so earth shattering that a business completely forgets about their customers. To make matters even worse she literally then said:
"To be honest, your ring was the last thing on my mind."
I'm sorry, but your CUSTOMERS and your PRODUCT are the last thing on your mind as a manager?! My jaw dropped when she said this and tried to defend it. Completely unprofessional and btw, I still don't...
Read moreI had a very bad experience at this Store. I’m from Saudi Arabia, where 22-karat gold is common, so I went in to look for a 22-karat ring. They told me they have 14-karat gold , which was surprising since it was my first time shopping for jewelry in the U.S. I started asking the female employee some questions, like why they don’t have 22-karat, how much gold costs per gram, and if they buy 22-karat gold.
The manager John Lightfoot came over, and instead of helping, he was very rude. He said, “I know you, you always come in here and ask these questions.” I told him it was my first time visiting the store, but he replied, “No, that’s not true, or maybe you have a twin who looks just like you and asks the same questions.” I felt so embarrassed because he was basically saying I was wasting their time.
I left the store but came back to politely tell him I didn’t appreciate the way he spoke to me. He ignored me completely, the female employee gave me a nasty look, and another male employee just sneered at me. None of them apologized or acted professionally.
This was the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. In every other jewelry store I’ve been to, the staff were polite and respectful. Not here. They lost a customer who was ready to spend money on 22-karat gold. I will never go back, and I don’t recommend this...
