An Unforgettable Breakfast Experience
Rating: ★★★★★
During our search for a breakfast spot, we stumbled upon the Family Café by pure chance, and it turned out to be an absolute delight! From the moment we entered, we were greeted by the warm smiles of the family that owns the café, creating a welcoming and friendly atmosphere. Choosing to sit outside, we enjoyed the pleasant morning sun, which was still cool enough for comfort.
As we settled in, our attention was immediately drawn to the captivating sight of Turkish coffee dishes adorning the tables of other patrons. Intrigued, we decided to try the Turkish coffee along with some Iraqi chai. Adding just one cube of sugar, we were instantly blown away by the incredible taste. Even now, the thought of it makes my mouth water, evoking a childlike joy that had me sitting on the picnic table, gleefully swinging my legs to and fro. The coffee experience alone was nothing short of incredible.
But the true highlight came when our food arrived. We ordered the Omelette with lamb gyro, and I can confidently say that it redefined my perception of an ordinary omelette. The flavors were so rich, so delicious that it left me in awe. Each bite was a journey of culinary bliss that took me by surprise and left a lasting impression.
To add to our delight, we also indulged in the Lamb and eggs dish, which was equally outstanding. The flavors and execution were out of this world, further solidifying the café's reputation for exceptional cuisine.
In my honest opinion, the Family Café deserves more than just a five-star review. If a six-star option were available, I would gladly award it. I eagerly anticipate my next visit, where I plan to explore the lunch and dinner offerings, curious to see if they can surpass the extraordinary experience I had during breakfast. Thank you, once again, for your incredible place and warm hospitality. I will not only be returning soon but also recommending your establishment to all my friends in search of an exceptional...
Read moreFamily Café is a lovely small café, only a few tables, with great atmosphere, service and food. This is perfect for me as I don't typically eat out being immune compromised. I usually have to get everything to go. This place was such a treat! All around.
My daughter loves this place and suggested we go here so I could try the tea. The Iraqi chai, similar to Turkish tea, was excellent. The presentation is beautiful. I forgot to get a picture. But they are brewing with the traditional Samowar/samovar and tea cups. They bring out a beautiful display with sugar cubes and walnuts in little dishes to be soaked in the tea. She kept our cups full. I can see how easy it is to drink this all day. My mom's Australian, so I know tea. This was so good! I now want my own samovar set up, as it's so different from traditional English or even Chinese or Japanese style tea. 😊
In addition, the food was good and the service was excellent. We both had the lamb dish. It wasn't busy at the time and the woman working (probably the owner) was so good & sweet with my two year old granddaughter. They picked an appropriate name - Family Café. I would definitely go back.
They also have a nice little selection of evil eye trinkets and jewelry and a few other gift items...
Read moreThe little but very special details are what make this place a gem in Beaverton, but the food will also captivate you. I love when people create unique spaces that match or add to the essence of the dishes they serve. We had the lamb and the beef dishes over rice along with Turkish coffee and salads. Just take a look at the picture of that beautiful set on which my coffee was served; no restaurant has to serve drinks this way to make the drink authentic but those who do definitely are committed to going above and beyond. The coffee was truly Turkish in both quality and favor; complete with all the necessary spices. The Iraqi dishes were delicious and made of quality ingredients. But none of these culinary qualities would be complete without the perfect atmosphere and great service. I loved that the indoor space felt from another country, down to the collection of trinkets from Iraq or other parts of the Middle East on one end, and the fruits displayed prominently and proudly on the front counter. I could see that food and environment are a priority here and I loved that. I hope this place continues to stay true to itself and to offer great authentic dishes. Try the baklava, it...
