Holy moly. Never doing this again with fred Meyer. Got there to pick up a curbside order 10 minutes before scheduled time. I was told to come back as they were short staffed. So I came back about an hour later. The main things we ordered had to be substituted.....so I already had to drive home and back, now to dealing with the substitutions. So for a whole deli chicken.....they wanted to substitute an 8 piece fried chicken order? Big difference in product there. It's going on a pizza. š© Then I saw they tried to substitute my cats food with a different brand. That will make my kitty sick. Because they had to cancel the substitutions it brought my total Down below 150. There goes my free turkey. Come on. So had to cancel my turkey. Took the guy ten minutes to run my ebt card. At first he wanted cash for the eggs? The heck. So it finally got all finished. So in order to get a different flavor of cat food, not brand, I had to go in and go shopping anyway. Found a whole chicken by way. So the whole point was not having to get my 6 year old out of the car, as he struggles in maintaining composure in grocery stores. AND after I bought the stuff we needed inside, it would have easily brought our order over 150. But here I am without a free turkey. I am beyond disappointed in this pickup experience Just got home to realize half our stuff wasn't even in a bag? Cereal, single cans of soda, dessert.....interesting trip...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI go to this Fred Meyer because they carry the brand of beer that I like at a decent price. I was just there buying the beer at the self check out and I was the ONLY person at the check out. When I scanned the beer naturally the notification that my ID needed to checked popped up. I turned toward the checkout attendant waiting for a response of some sort. I observed for a few moments the attendant shuffling around the podium they stand behind. Thinking that perhaps the notification for an ID check went "un-notice" I said in a very matter of fact, no attitude voice "I need an ID check" loudly enough to be heard by the attendant. She froze, looked at me with what I interpret as a "who the f are you to demand service from me - I'll get to you when I get to you" kinda look on her face and said she would be right there. After scanning my ID she said "thanks for waiting" in a way that to me was rather disingenuous. In the grand scheme of things this really doesn't matter. But jeez Louise - is it really that much to ask for her to simply acknowledge someone needing her help so they aren't wondering what's going on? I guess I was supposed to mindlessly stand there and hope he would eventually, I don't know, do her job. I hope Fred Meyer management understands that some of their employees appear to have a 'tude about them. But then I guess that why she works the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreLong wait in line! I'm over 70 and arrived before 7 a.m. to shop early. The store was moderately busy for that time of day. I completed my shopping in about 30 min. Then I waited 15 more minutes in line! because you only had 1 clerk with a bagger and 1 person at the self check and 2 clerks standing at the Customer Service desk with no customers just chatting. You don't have one other person in the store who can be pulled to help with the back up?? Both check outs had lines. I had too many groceries (and some wine) to conveniently use self check. My point is if I can complete my shopping quickly but have to stand in line for 15 min. more then there is no point in shopping early. My risks multiplied just standing in one place. When I checked out there was a line of 5 carts behind me. That isn't offering a safe shopping experience in my opinion. Staff the store adequately please. If that happens again, I'm most likely to walk away from my cart and head home. I shouldn't have stayed this time except I was weighing exposing myself twice or once. Pre-pandemic, for a while, quick check out seemed to be your focus. What...
