We were in the area and this was very close to the area we were staying in for a few days. We have been there twice in the last week. Both times we had different servers and each server neither one introduced their selves, and both came across as being in a hurry and seemed very impatient with us and even asking questions about items on the menu. They were both very inattentive. We constantly were having to try and keep an eye out for the servers because they were never around checking on us. We felt like we were a inconvenience to them. There was a female helper who only delivers salsa, beans and chips. On both occasions she was there and she never once came out and asked if we would like more, and she never once smiled or gave eye contact. She seemed miserably unhappy. No one ever bothered to keep an eye on us to see if we needed anything or if they could see us looking around to get service. Half of our time there was hunting for a server. Then yesterday my wife had to walk around the restaurant looking for someone to pay our bill. It was ridiculous. The food, well the first visit my wife ordered a tostada and it came as a curved taco shell. Never heard of a curved tostada so had to have that fixed. I had the Casa Grill with steak and pork ribs. The ribs were all fat and gristle, horrible it was uneatable. Yesterday I ordered a taco and the shell was wilted no crunchy to it, so had to have that fixed. I will say their salsa is great! Their fresh made flour tortillas also great. I had a Cadillac margarita which was delicious. The atmosphere was bad. This place is like a maze with all these tight small area you have to wind through which allows for little privacy. Ok let’s do our DAVLIN rating. ( 0-30 possible) FOOD-19 SERVICE-10 DECOR-12. This has the worst DAVLIN rating we have ever scored. Like any business in any industry it’s all about ‘leadership’ it all flows from the top. The food, decor, and service is a reflection of the management team pure and...
Read moreUPDATE: 8/13/25 Boy I have a good one for y’all! Even after I swore off this place I decided to give it a go ONE last chance and they couldn’t deliver AGAIN!
I called and asked how much it was for the birrieria taco platter, how many tacos does the platter come with and how much it cost. I was told the birrieria tacos come 3 tacos together with beans and rice for 24$ and some change. I said great I’ll take a platter of birrieria tacos with an additional taco as well. Then the guy asked what kind of meat??? I was thinking ah cool this place has chicken birrieria too?? Okay anyhow I replied shredded beef… (aren’t birrieria tacos made of shredded beef?) any how I get there and the guy says ok I made you shredded beef tacos and I said yeah birrieria right? And he says no just regular shredded beef tacos…. The guy took the food back and said he would fix it I waited 10-15 mins and that was fine. I took my food home opened it up and it literally looked like shredded beef tacos. No red sauce anywhere to be seen. We went back and they said this plate was the only way they made birrieria tacos. This unacceptable and i will not go back there even if it was the last place to eat out left on earth!! My tacos verses what real birrieria looks like!!
The food there was well worth the money paid. The prices were that of your typical mexican restaurant and their portion sizes were very generous. I probably would pay to eat there again but I am not sure and here is why... As far as customer service is considered I only rated it a one star because when I went in to pick up my food I waited patiently for assistance and a man walked in after me, stood behind, and when the server came she looked straight at him and said como puedo ayudarte? So was it because he was a man, a Hispanic like herself, or because I was in sweat pants? I am not sure...
Read moreDelicious Lunch. I ordered the carne asada from the dinner menu with homemade corn tortillas. I’d seen the name La Hacienda Real around but thought it was another (more Americanized) place. It’s not. I found the food to be very flavorful and exactly what I had been craving.
The salsa was great and although I personally did not enjoy the homemade flour tortillas, I did adore the homemade corn tortillas. 😀
We enjoyed excellent service, and it was quiet and I really appreciate the gorgeous Decour throughout the restaurant. It is like entering into a restaurant in Mexico with cobblestone, warm lighting and talavera throughout. Someone really took their time decorating that space and making it beautiful, inviting. It really is a wonderful experience.
The carne asada was a little more on the expensive side I want to say it was $26-$27. Manuel took excellent care of us, and the young lady who was bussing did perfect job, she was intuitive and helpful and sweet. We eat at a lot of Mexican restaurants and this, right now, is currently my favorite sit down restaurant. It seems like it be a fun place to go on a date. They’ve got lots and lots of different styles of seating. They have seating for groups look like they have a banquet room and they have patio seating. Looks like a lot of fun there. We will return! I’d like to go back and try every dish they have ☺️
