A review from a Californian who likes flavor
This place brought me right back to California, I have not had a good Birria place since moving to Oregon. My only complaint is I can't go every day. I have yet to try most of their menu, but so far I will review the stuff I have tried. The Burrito. Their Burrito is HUGE, some of the other places in PDX make the burrito so small, or underfill it with all the flavor and spices, not this place. They load it full of onion and cilantro and meat and beans and rice, It's not just good its ADDICTING. The salsa is hot enough to wake you up on a cold day and the burrito is always flavorful and delicious. If you like spice, and you like flavor you must try the burrito.
The Rice and beans is, well, rice and beans, as advertised, the rice is flavorful and everything tastes solid, not overdone cooked well and thoroughly and very good. No complaints from me!
The Hortchata is delicious as well, flavorful and brought me back to when I was visiting Jalisco back when I was a kid, when I had the hortchata I had a Ratatouillie flashback to sitting at a table with my friends and family eating food at my friends house at a party.
I will tell anyone who cannot handle flavor to find a new place, this place doesn't taste bland, you will have flavor in every bite. My friends call me a food snob (I love good food) and I rate food I eat off of whether love is put into it.
This place cooks with love, today I was having a bad day and was feeling upset about my ex leaving me, getting the burrito 2 times today has cured my sad. I don't need a girlfriend when I have some Hortchata and...
Read moreI ordered some quesotacos from them and I waited for my order like normal. I started noticing that people behind me in line were getting their orders before I got mine. I went up to the window and told the lady that took my order that I had yet to receive my order. She looked puzzled and said something to one of the cooks. So I kept on waiting for my order another 20 more minutes passed by. I got fed up and asked her for my money back. She did not want return my money. She said they were coming up. I already waited nearly an hour and they had yet to start on my order. I told her I just want my money back. She pretended not to know how to speak any English, when I had clearly heard her speak in English to a customer in front of me. She finally started processing my refund when she asks me to move aside that she was going to take some other orders first because they were closing down. So I waited more. By this time my two year old was tired of waiting and my food I had ordered from another restaurant had gone cold and we were hungry. She finally said she processed my refund and I asked for a receipt and she said that the refund was processed and that’s all she could do. I have yet to see my refund in my account. So not only do they have poor customer service they are...
Read moreNot worth the hassle getting food from BirriaPDX. Second time dealing with the terrible business practice from this place. First time I gave them the benefit of the doubt, guess I should've known better. I now have to spend MY time trying to get my money back for an order they accepted and charged me for, but didn't fulfill because they closed outside of their posted business hours. The place says it's open until 9:30PM, Google says open until 10PM. Placed my order at 8:30PM. They charged my card ($50 order), came to pick up my order at 9PM, but showed up to the truck closed. A guy came out of the BirriaPDX food truck, so I let him know that I put in an order, he replies "I didn't see it". Okay, closing early, not great, but I get it, it's Saturday night. I tell him "I got charged for it, can I get my refund?", guy told me "no bro" then walked away. What kind of business does that? "No bro"? Then walk away?
Don't bother getting food from BirriaPDX, food might be decent but you'll literally be wasting your time having to dispute charges, cause they won't refund your money, even if they don't fulfill your order. Even if they refund me, AND offer free food for a year, wouldn't really matter since you'll never know if their...
