We went on a Thursday night at dinnertime, so the dinner rush wait was expected. We waited for 40 minutes before getting a seat. They warned us that any chicken would also be about 40 more minutes to cook, since it was all prepared fresh, so we ordered an appetizer with our drinks, but the chicken actually began arriving a bit sooner than that, albeit one tray at a time.
The food was so freaking good that I forgot to take any pictures of it and we just dove right in. The drinks were good, too; we got the mango tango and Seoul crusher cocktails. I have a good spice tolerance, and I got one small order of 1-flame Gangnam Style chicken and one small order of 3-flame Spicy Original chicken. The 3-flame definitely builds up a bit at first, but then I got used to it and it was fine. Based on that, I'm definitely getting the 4-flame Wings of Fire next time. My friend got the Golden Original and Honey Garlic because she has absolutely zero spice tolerance. She actually found the Golden Original to be a little too spicy? I couldn't detect any spice at all, and it doesn't indicate having any spice, and she admittedly has worse spice tolerance than a literal toddler, but still. The honey garlic was amazing, though. VERY garlic-forward, more than most honey-garlic dishes. If you prefer your honey garlic to be honey-forward, this will probably be too garlicky for you. If you want your breath to ward off vampires, definitely go for it.
The service, though... the host was amazing. I wish I'd gotten his name to commend him properly. He was a young, thin fellow who always spoke with a smile and seemingly endless patience, who was always unfailingly polite and friendly, never acted harried, but was also the only one to check on us and get us things. Our server literally never checked on us a single time after dropping off our food, even though we'd see servers go to check on other tables. We had to try to flag down someone for several minutes to put in an added drink order, and then he never let us know that the smoothie machine broke so they couldn't make them. (The charming host was the one to actually come and check, and realized the server never told us.) When we went to pay, the drinks were still on there so we got them voided off and asked for some boxes. The server once again never came to give us boxes, but the host - who I swear was doing four jobs at once, he was so good - came and brought us - surprise! - smoothies. We told him we'd already paid the bill without them, but he said it was fine, we could still go ahead and have them, and he got us both to-go cups AND the missing to-go boxes that had never shown up. So... yeah.
The 8-piece chicken was $17 each. 16 piece is $33 each. We're pigs, so we got two 8-piece chickens plus sweet potato fries plus a cocktail each, so we spent a pretty penny, but got delicious leftovers for it (which I'm eating as I write this review). Just as good the next day!
Cooks: 5/5 stars, great food Servers: can't even rate, they were so nonexistent Host: 6/5 stars, you rock, dude! Singlehandedly...

BB.Q Chicken is hands-down my favorite wing brand, specifically for their original wings. No other place nails that perfect crispy-yet-light texture with the subtle olive oil flavor and a hint of spice. I’ve had BB.Q all over the U.S. (Austin, Seattle, LA, NYC), so when the Beaverton location opened, I was beyond excited.
From February to early April, I ordered their original wings religiously, like at least three times a week. Every batch was consistently amazing: thin, ultra-crispy skin with that signature flavor I adore. But around mid-April, something changed.
The last few orders have been completely different. The wings now have a thicker, greasier coating—more like generic fried chicken—and lack that distinct BB.Q crisp and olive oil flavor. At first, I thought it was a one-off mistake, but after multiple orders (yes, I kept hoping!), it’s clear the recipe or frying method here has changed and also completely lost its unique flavor too. There were one time, I even thought I ordered a wrong flavor accidentally. Until today I ordered again, it was the fourth time I tried since mid-April I noticed it’s different and I can really safely make the conclusion that you have changed the receipt. I don’t know it’s due to the cost or the different way of training.
Attached is a photo comparison: the left is from a recent order (thick, oily, uneven fried skin), and the right is from February (perfect, crispy perfection). I’m not saying the current wings are bad—they’re still decent—but they’ve lost what made them special. I often raved about it that NO OTHER shop can make that kind of light, think crispy with that special flavor.

Read moreWas very excited for this experience, unfortunately a number of things left it severely lacking. We went in expecting a long wait time, so no issues with that. To start, we had to ask three separate times for water. I was also never offered a refil of my fountain beverage thought the server walked past our table many times and it sat empty. Next, we had two dishes, one for myself and one for my husband, but they weren't brought out at the same time; in fact 15 minutes apart. The biggest issue is one that the staff is apparently aware of, but don't advise in advance or do anything to fix, the Original Golden chicken is spicy! On the menu it is not noted as spicy and one of the few things without a spicy indicator. I was excited to try this and that there was an option I could enjoy, but ended up with an hour of pain. The staff said they were aware and that it is due to everything being fried in the same oil, this must mean that some of the dredging/batter has spice in it. Someone came by and asked if I'd like to order something else, like one of the pasta dishes. Respectfully, I'm not going to order pasta at a fried chicken restaurant. The compounding issues soured this experience. Hopefully some of the issues will resolve as time goes since they just opened and I'm sure still getting their sea legs. If we do try again, it won't be...
