A Comprehensive Guide to Portland's Buffets

I have been eating Korean bbq for more than 20 years and this was the WORST experience I have ever had. We were a group of 6 chose the premium AYCE. Their rules: - you can only order 4 plates each round - limited 2 hours of dining time (including waiting time, and they serve SLOW) - only serve two pieces of Galbi, 4 thin slices of beef tongue each round, 1 small piece of steak, 4 thin slices of beef - Only serve 4 rounds of premium selection meat ( calculate this and we can’t even have two pieces of galbi per person) - can order more ONLY after you cook all meat (they come take order SUPER SLOW, serve raw meat SUPER SLOW, ON PURPOSE) They didn’t state how much meat they limited to serve you each round with limited number of rounds. With party of 6, we were waiting to order food or waiting for food HALF OF TIME. They literally took 15 minutes to come take order, and another 15 minutes to serve the raw meat. We probably sat there with an empty table without food almost for an hour. We even needed to go the front desk to order food because no one came after we pressed the bell for 20 times. No salad no banchan. The grill was burned dark empty every time cus there’s no food to cook with a very long wait time. And we even needed to change the grill ourselves cus no one changed the grill!! This serving 4 plates with very small portion of meat makes might sense for party of two. But for a bigger party, it’s almost like no food was being served. Imagine each 30 minutes, a party of 6 only gets two galbi, 8 thin slices of meat, and a palm size steak. We tried to communicate with them that the server and the food came too slow (how long does it take to get raw meat to be served?!) . But they didn’t improve at all. I’m 100% sure they did it on purpose, probably this is how they have been doing to to limit how much customers eat. We were charged full price for something they called ALL YOU CAN EAT, with very limited amount of meat we can order. At the end, everyone in my group was half full and left the restaurant unhappily! To be honest, if they can’t run premium AYCE, just take it off from the menu. DO NOT FALSE ADVERTISE, AND TRICK CUSTOMERS!

Came in last night with a large group to celebrate a friend’s birthday. First visit, and will definitely be returning. We did the AYCE Premium option and it was definitely worth it. Lots of options, and great quality. Heads up- they state their policies on the menu. Do yourself a favor and read up on them before ordering. 1- Everyone at your table has to order the same AYCE - either standard or premium. Wasn’t an issue for us- we are all foodies and happily paid the extra $5/ person for the upgraded menu. 2- You can only order 4 items at a time. (Also, not an issue for us). 3- You cannot leave meat wasted. If you order it, eat it. If there is a bunch left over you will be charged $10 for it. Again- no problem for us; we ate EVERYTHING. I actually liked seeing this because they are a small business and wasted food is just wasted money. So I wholeheartedly support that. 4- They will only do 2 checks per group; plan ahead on how you’ll split the bill. We paid around $550 for 10 people. Which included drinks and auto gratuity. So about $55-$60/ person. The bulgogi was tender and really well marinated, the LA Galbi Ribs were fantastic, and we LOVED the scallops and cheesy corn. The 2 servers we had were great. They had their hands full with us and were always courteous, helpful, and quick. 5 stars for those 2. I will be recommending this place to anyone looking for good Korean BBQ. Had a wonderful time and left full and happy.

An absolute catastrophe. We waited in front for five minutes as half the restaurant was empty. When seated, three tables were disgustingly left uncleaned and no one was willing to put actual care into the restaurant.

We had to ask a waitress to serve us after 10 minutes. She then responded, "Oh, I thought you were already served." We were clearly looking for a waitress and looking around for anyone since we didn't get our drinks.

We ordered our food and as we cooked chewy, gross, untrimmed fatty beef bulgogi, we needed a simple grill change after our four dishes were finished. The restaurant doesn't place a gentle layer of oil on top to avoid meat from sticking.

We asked the same waitress, and she said she'll serve us. We again waited 15 minutes for her to return to us and she avoided complete eye contact. I asked her again and she responded, "Oh, I thought I already did it," after she stares at our table and our grill was noticeably black.

We waited for another 5 minutes and had to ask another waiter for help. He got all our food for us, refilled our drinks and changed our grill. We never saw that waitress again.

I asked for a discount and we were granted it — as should — for subpar service and disgusting chewy food. But it took forever to get because none of the waiters knew who the manager or "person in charge" was since the owners weren't present.

Before we left, the waitress came up to us and said, "Thank you and have a goodnight" with the most horrendous grin on her face.

Childish...

I go to Korean BBQ all the time. I've never experienced such unprofessional and unwelcoming service. Eat here and you'll experience an episode of Gordon Ramsay's...
