We are frequent customers at the Clackamas location and, unfortunately, we’re extremely disappointed with this location.
The first issue we had was that the service was appalling. We were greeted immediately but then it took forever to order. Multiple servers walked past us, without looking in our direction, so we couldn’t make eye contact to order, and our “excuse me’s” went ignored. Mind you, it was not very busy at this point. Once it did get busy, our server went on break and no other employees checked on us. Every time someone walked by us, they did not check in or look in our direction… the tables around us were catered to, but not us.
Second issue we had was the quality of food was awful. It wad obvious the food had been sitting out for an extended period of time, it took forever to get the food we did order (hand roll and nigiri), and at one point got food that we didn’t order. The portion sizes were less than desirable - Nothing compared to the Clackamas location. It was extremely disappointing.
Third issue we had was being over charged. We waited around for a server to come and count our players so we could pay and leave, but because it took so long, we calculated our total so we knew what to expect. When we went to leave, they attempted to over charge us. We challenged their count and were, in fact, right, so they corrected our total.
Fourth issue was the restaurant itself. The dirty dish bin sat in the middle of the restaurant, which was attracting flies of all kind. Multiple times I had to wave large flies away, and even killed a few fruit flies that were hovering around our food. The tables were being wiped down with a visibly soiled towel while leftover food and plates sat on tables for extended periods of time, not being cleaned off, even though the employees weren’t busy at the time, leading to the excessive number of flies in the restaurant. what
Needless to say, not all locations are the same. We will continue to go to the Clackamas location, but will never return to the Beaverton location. Terrible service, poor quality of food, and a dirty atmosphere. Horrible...
Read moreI come here twice a week, at least, ever since I found out they opened I was stoked! The place before them was called sushiland and I worked there before so it was so refreshing to see how clean and new everything is inside. It’s spotless! Lots of renovations inside and out. Worth visiting.
The servers and employees are asian which is a plus because it’ll reflect on quality of service and food. There has been a few times I have over heard conversations between customer and server and there seems to be a lot of miscommunication because of their accent. Just a heads up, we have experienced this ourselves. Lots of patience will come in handy, but overall they are hardworking and sweet staff.
Today, our server noticed how much I liked their green tea and even offered me a free to go hot green tea. He was also very quick and speedy and was speed walking in order to get things done quickly. I know a hard worker when I see one!
Prices are top notch! Pretty affordable compared to the ones in town and their salmon and seared salmon are always fresh and thick sliced. For $30, we were sooo stuffed and everything...
Read moreMy first time here, visiting from Illinois. I love Sushi and I've been to many places like this. This one however was a little different. I liked how they put pictured signs in front of the food on the belt so you would know what you are eating...that was a plus for folks who are not familiar with the types of Sushi there is. The downside was they have "made-up" some Sushi things I have never heard of that should never be in a sushi place....like steak and cream cheese sushi? Bacon, egg and cream cheese? There were others that sounded just as bad. I don't know if they did this to bring in people who normally don't like sushi or what? But just because you roll it up in rice doesn't make it true sushi. What's next, Mac & Cheese sushi? Hotdog sushi? Thanks, but no thanks. I gave it 3 stars, because as stated above, there were a number of young families here with lot of kids who were pulling things that I don't consider sushi, so they may have found a nitch, so I salute you for...
