I have been coming to this Red Robin for over 30 years. I've seen the peaks and highs when this place used to be jam-packed with lines at the door every evening and especially on the weeknights you would have 30 to 50 minute wait times. We've come here consistently at least several times a year over the course of those 30 years. Sadly, while the atmosphere has mostly say the same and they've tried to update it every few years or so to match whatever their current franchise themes are, the service here has never really improved and it always is spotty. Sometimes you'll get a really great waiter. Sometimes you'll get a mediocre one and if you're unfortunate, you'll end up with the bad ones who hate their jobs and are have no patience. Thankfully, we've ended up most the time here with mediocre waiters or waitresses and the hostesses are always very friendly and happy to accommodate seating request or options if we want to sit at the bar or not. Our most recent visit we had a very Metro if not homo waiter overall his service was okay. He was friendly but as soon as one person in our party made a specific request or asked if they could change it. He was very adamant about not changing it. He had vocalized that he tried to explain the situation before taking the order and that he already put the order in. As someone who's worked in the service industry, I can understand the frustration or complication that this would cause. However, being in that role they should have gone out of their way to make things work. Also, overall Red Robin has had new exclusions and limitations on utilizing a customer's rewards benefits and or deals. They no longer allow you to use your Red Robin royalty rewards. If you take advantage of one of their in-store deals, I understand why this is a policy. However, it is anti-consumer and anti-friendly to any person visiting. Most people. Would be happy to visit Red Robin and other such franchises and restaurants if they weren't so skimpy on these deals. We came and had four orders. Even if one of them was a free order, they still would have had three full price paid orders. We also left the tip so there's no reason that this stuff should actually affect people's ability to come in there. I can almost guarantee that most people are not coming by themselves and taking advantage for a single order of a free Burger with their $10 deals. It just doesn't make sense. We will probably revisit this location as it is centrally located within the Beaverton area and generally we have gotten better surface here compared to either the tennis born location or Washington square location. However, because of our previous two visits where we feel like we have been ripped off because we go there with the intention of utilizing our Red Robin royalty rewards along with whatever deals they may have and not being able to use them both leaves a bad taste in your mouth when instead of leaving with a good taste of...
Read moreOk so this is going to probably sound a little petty but it really all could have been handled with just basic customer service skills. My daughter, her boyfriend and myself went to dinner there tonight. We've been to this location multiple times, service can be iffy but had yet to be out right rude. I get the same thing all the time. We get there tonight, they're busy, no biggie, we weren't in a hurry but the server first thing out of his mouth was do you know what you want. He seemed in a hurry. We ordered appetizers and told him to come back for the rest of the order once we decided. He came back with our drinks, and again was like are you ready. No not yet. Well after we finally ordered and our meals arrived, my hamburger was burnt, no a nice char, just burnt. I flagged the waiter over and told him the hamburger was burnt. He literally said "yeah" and went to grab the plate as I was eating the fries. I asked if he could leave the fries and he said no and grabbed the plate right out under me. Now ok in my humble opinion, the way to handle that was to first apologize and say let's get you a new one. Then secondly, you want to keep your fries, no problem let me grab something to put the burger on. Simple. Not too complicated. I saw another server and asked if I could speak with the manager. She asked if there was anything she could help with. I said no I would just like to speak with the manager. She made a face like I offended or scared her, I couldn't tell. She said he was in the back cooking since they were short. Not my problem. He came out and wasn't friendly, he did apologize but again I think they must've been scared or something because he treated me like I was going to explode or something at any moment. I didn't raise my voice, told him what I perceived as rude from his server and he seemed like he could care less then asked if I even wanted the burger because I looked... I asked him to explain what that meant, I looked like? He said most people who send food back don't want it after sending it back? News to me. I just wanted a burger that wasn't burnt. Like all the times before. My daughter said as he walked off he made a face. Which said to me again that this place lacks professionalism and good customer service, especially if that's the way the manager acts. No wonder his staff has zero skills. We won't go back to this location again. What got me was how they treated me. Like they were scared. I won't make it a race issue but I do have to wonder. Especially when he said I looked then trailed off. I would love to know what his actual comment was...
Read moreEvery time my family comes to this place, the waitstaff is lackluster, and the service and food was not good. Our son order a kids burger, but it was pink inside and the waiter didn't care to work that day. It was on a Sunday afternoon, and it was not so busy, but the service was not the best.
Second time was worst! So my first review of this place was not the best this is my second review and I will tell you to run from this place, the waiter that served us this afternoon was a young guy with shoulder length hair that was a brunette of the ethnic and origin.
(Update) We thought coming back with a good idea, it turns out to be terrible. The waiter that waited on us, was lousy, when he took her order, rolling his eyes acting like he didn't want to serve our table, but he had no other problem serving the other table, that was on the side of us.
Our kids was with us, he messed up our, didn't offer as any drinks refills, there was no silverware on the table, and they cannot say it was busy, because it was a Sunday afternoon and there was hardly any people there. He completely ignored, our table and then proceeded to ignore, our table while other staff members waited on us. This person did not get a tip, nor will they ever get a tip from us, and we will not be returning to his red robins.
When I talked to the lazy manager, he ignored my complaints and told me what I wanted to hear, which I wasn't born yesterday because, I worked at Food Service and I know what the managers want to say to shut up the customer. But they will be hearing from me, and we will be getting a refund because you do not treat, a family this way just because you're having a bad day. If you're having a bad day stay home! that way we won't have to deal with it. So, please go to another Red Robin this is not worth it, and the one person that did help us, he went out of his way to provide for us better service, than our assigned waiter did, and we wish we would have been able to tip him, because he knew it was like actually work and...
