Worst thrift experience I have ever had. Got an email from them about a sale so I decided to swing by. The email said they were closed that Saturday because of a holiday. I decided to go at lunch on Monday. I walked into the front door into the store (which was WIDE OPEN) and started to browse. Suddenly an older lady approached me and asked me if I was volunteering(in a very terse manner) Confused, I responded saying I was shopping, to which she replied that they weren't open...
She said I had to "speak with he boss". At this point I am referencing the email, which as I confirmed says nothing about it being closed on Mondays AND the front door was wide open. I spoke with "the boss" and told her my perspective and asked if I could just look at the sweaters. Begrudgingly, she said yes(it's like they didn't care about my business and weren't apologetic at all that their communications are beyond vague). As I started looking, several other old ladies kept accosting me and telling me I shouldn't be there. One even threatened to call the police on me!!!!
Now, I consider myself a fairly reasonable person. If the store was closed and it was my error I would have left. Since it wasn't, I just asked if they would let me shop for one product I came to look for and "the boss" said ok. The employees never apologized to me, made me feel like I was committing a crime by being there and basically guaranteed that I will never return to such a hostile environment.
As a Jew writing this review about a non-profit run by a Jewish agency, it certainly is upsetting. However, these older women need to get with the program and create clear marketing material and then not hold their customer at fault when they make not one but two egregious errors. Be a mensch not...
Read moreI really want to give this review a 5 star rating, but I can't. I found everything I needed which was a plus. The items were in good condition, and I saved a good amount of money. Half of a star is lost because the men's shoe selection was horrible. Another half of a star lost for bad customer service. The ladies at the register were really awkward and pushy. I felt like I was an employee being trained on how the store operates, along with their rules and regulations lol. I just wanted to check my items out and get out of there. At least they let me in. I see another reviewer was almost kicked out because the employees were slacking and left the door open when they were closed. Just let us in to shop and buy things. Wonderful items on sale, but I'm almost starting to understand the self check out! If you can handle rough employees this is the...
Read moreConsistently disappointed in the offerings here. I have dropped off trunk loads of beautiful clothing, jewelry and other items at their warehouse donation center. I have looked at the warehouse, granted from the doorway, and saw an overwhelming amount of wonderful items. What do they do with the beautiful things? For the most part they aren't in the store. A lot of their prices are ridiculously high for used donated items. I have overpaid for some lamps that I loved and purchased some reasonably priced items over my couple visits here. The store seems well organized and is clean. It is at the bottom of my list of thrift shops in which to spend my...
