This review specifically is about the sunset dinner event I attended. It's the first year Beech has offered a sunset "fine dining" experience. They have some kinks to work out but I still 100% recommend.
Everything from reservations to food offerings was well planned and seamless. The cost of dinner includes the chairlift ride up and a shuttle back down. Alcohol is additional.
During reservations, we could choose between rack of lamb, rabbit or trout for our evening but it changes depending on availability. The rack was delicious, served with mashed potatoes and sautéed green beans.
We were greeted with an assortment of heavy appetizers. First course was watermelon salad served with olive oil, fresh mint and feta. We chose tiramisu as dessert.
The bar is fully stocked. Service was good after the general crowd was sent back down.
Nothing compares to the panoramic views of the majestic Blue Ridge mountains. It's worth the travel and price to see it while dining.
Advice: go up early to watch mountain bikers and listen to live music IF you like it crowded and loud. If you prefer a more serene experience, arrive just before they close the...
Read moreWe went there today on a whim hoping for a relaxing activity and we got exactly what we had hoped for! The views at the top of the lift are gorgeous. The Skybar at the top of the mountain is such an inviting and clean place. Everyone was social distancing and employees had mask on which made me feel very comfortable. Cameron one of the bartenders was super friendly and on top of it with his drink making skills! As a whole, Beech Mountain Resort was very organized today in getting our tickets, signing the waiver and riding the lift. Every employee we came in contact with was very friendly and welcoming. There was hand sanitizer throughout the resort and the resort was very clean. The bathrooms at the skybar were spotless. We will be back next year! I highly recommend checking this place out! You will...
Read moreTook the ski lift to the top to check out 5506. A man tried to say something through the glass however we obviously could not hear him. With a very unpleasant look on his face he pointed at little sign on the glass that read “not a door, find a door handle” Off we went to find the door, but it was locked. We were quite confused as there were multiple people inside the bar drinking.
A gentleman that was clearly very intoxicated comes from the restroom and is let inside the locked door. He let us know they were closed.
It would have been free for the bartender to come kindly tell us that...
