I ate at Latitude Seafood for the second time last night. I previously ate here a few weeks ago during Harford County Restaurant Week. During that visit the food, atmosphere, and service was all good even with the the restaurant was busy. Last night my wife and I decided to visit because of the Monday night special, Stuffed Flounder with Garlic Mashed Potato.
Last night the restaurant was not extremely busy and when we were seated our server greeted us and was very helpful and attentive. We started with the Salt and Pepper Calamari which was tasty as I remembered from my first visit. My wife and I both order the Stuffed Flounder with garlic mashed potatoes, I also ordered a side of Honey Roasted Sriracha Brussels Sprouts. My son ordered the Bacon Cheddar Burger with fries. The stuffed flounder was pretty good...could have used a bit more seasoning. The garlic mashed potatoes were good as well. My son enjoyed his burger.
After the food was delivered, our server pulled the ultimate disappearing act. We barely saw her and had to hope to catch her attention whenever we need refills for our drinks. After waiting 5-10 minutes to grab the server's attention for my final refill and to-go boxes, we also ordered 2 Cookie Monster Nightingale Ice Cream Sandwiches to go along with our check. The service dropped the diet coke, to-go boxes, and check off rather quickly but that was the last time we saw her. After waiting 15-20 minutes we finally got the attention of the hostess as she was cleaning tables and asked her to track down our server or desserts. A few minutes later the hostess came with our desserts and told us our server was busy boxing our desserts. We checked the desserts to make sure they were correct and noticed that the ice cream had started to melt, a sign that our dessert has been sitting. We left disappointed but eager to get home and eat our desserts before we had ice cream soup. I probably should have requested new desserts but did not want to risk waiting another 15-20 minutes.
The desserts were good but not sure if/when I will return to this establishment. I did not want to name the server but she was awful and needs to learn how to be...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Latitude Seafood in Bel Air, Maryland, and I must say, it was an unforgettable experience! From start to finish, everything about this restaurant exceeded my expectations.
First and foremost, the food was absolutely phenomenal. The crab cakes were a standout dish. Bursting with jumbo lump meat and devoid of any fillers, they were cooked to perfection and simply melted in my mouth. Each bite was pure bliss. The hellfire shrimp were also a delightfully tasty treat, offering a perfect balance of spice and flavor. But the star of the show was undoubtedly the crab pretzel. It was not only huge in size but also incredibly delicious. The combination of fresh crab and warm, soft pretzel was a match made in culinary heaven.
Beyond the outstanding cuisine, the service at Latitude Seafood was top-notch. The staff was attentive, friendly, and genuinely passionate about ensuring a memorable dining experience. I had the pleasure of interacting with the manager, Erin Watson, who went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and comfortable. Her warm demeanor and accommodating nature truly added to the overall enjoyment of our evening.
The atmosphere of the restaurant was another highlight. The tasteful decor, combined with the cozy ambiance, created an inviting and relaxing environment. Whether you're seeking an intimate dinner or a gathering with friends and family, Latitude Seafood provides the perfect setting for any occasion.
In conclusion, I wholeheartedly recommend Latitude Seafood to everyone! The exceptional food, impeccable service, and delightful atmosphere make it a standout dining destination. Whether you're a seafood lover or simply craving a fantastic culinary experience, this place is an absolute gem. I can't wait to return to Latitude Seafood as soon as possible for another remarkable meal.

Read moreThis is an update to an earlier review focusing on food allergy safety. If you don't have food allergies, I recommend you read the other reviews.
In case you can't be bothered to read the full review, the long and short is that I had a food allergy issue during my visit, but after discussions with management, the restaurant has implemented new procedures in hopes of prevent any future issues. Given what I have been told, even given my experience, I would feel comfortable dining here again.
I have Celiac (can't eat gluten due to an autoimmune response - not exactly an allergy, but treated as such for the purpose of a restaurant / food prep). During my visit, due to an unfortunate set of events, I ate an item which I was told was gluten free, but discovered later that it was not. This was very upsetting at the time, and I'm still suffering the consequences of that today, and will be for some time. My original review spelled out the events of that day, what I felt were the causes that lead to this mistake, and some recommendations to fix it.
After leaving my review, I was contacted by the manager offering an apology and a promise to do better. While I appreciated the apology, I expressed concern that committing to do better was insufficient, and that there needed to be fundamental changes to policy and/or procedure to ensure prevention of future issues. To my surprise, I received a response the following morning which outlined various policy and procedure changes which were being implemented immediately to include things like wider availability of allergen charts, and mandatory management consultation upon mention of an allergy, amongst other steps. These were the types of changes I was recommending, and I'm thrilled to see them implemented so quickly and that there was such willingness from the store management to do so.
Well done Latitude for making your restaurant a safer place for any of your...
