Been here 2 times in 2 years and that was 3 times too many.
On Memorial day my favorite pizza place was closed. I moved to belleville 2 years ago and I gave benitos a try right after we moved here and it was so so then, and we never went back.
Tonight I thought Id try it again, its been 2 years and it was again boring and wrong food.
The website is confusing, and I ordered a personal pizza and choose deep dish, but got hand tossed when I picked it up. Don't know if they even make deep dish in the personal pizza. Had I known I was getting hand tossed I would have chosen a crust flavor, which would have somewhat added some flavor.
The predominant flavor of the pizza was burnt. Boring ingredients, boring pizza sauce, boring crust with boring texture.
Got the bread stix, average, nothing to write home about.
A big disappointment as well was the ranch. You wouldn't think ranch is a big deal but I expect to get ranch thats made in house by a pizza place. When I opened the box it was a prepackaged Marzetti salad dressing ranch.
I run my own business (not food industry) and I would be embarrassed to serve my customers prepackaged ranch. I have that at home in a bottle. Frankly thats a disgrace. The website says gourmet pizza, and I guess if you think prepackaged ranch salad dressing is gourmet, then this is the pizza place for you.
There are basically 3 other pizza places in belleville, 1 of which is worse then benitos and the other 2 are both light years ahead of benitos.
In Summary I got wrong, burnt, boring food, but at the end of the day I didn't even bother calling to have them try and remake it because Im pretty sure that at their best it would still be a 2 star pizza place and thats just not worth the hassle of even calling. Ill just toss it out and eat good pizza when the other...
Read moreThe pizza, breadsticks and sub sandwiches are great! The pizza we got this time was a little different, we always order the same kind of pizza, Detroit style deep dish, made with the same ingredients and with a full flavored crust but this time the crust had some kind of hot sauce added which made it very spicy. It was too much for my sister, who prefers this pizza to the other Detroit style pizza place here. They have also changed their Italian sausage to one with more spice making the pizza hotter, spice wise. I don't mind it at all but it is a bit much for my brothers and sister to take. From now on we'll have to adjust our order to get pizza that everyone can enjoy. The Benito's bread is superb, plenty of gooey melted cheese, I could make a meal just out of the bread. Other than the issue with our pizza this time everything is always first rate. We appreciate how fast the delivery always is since we order a few times a month, but we were slightly disappointed with our pizza this last time. Overall the place is great and we will be ordering again in the future, we'll just have to be more careful to specify less spice be added to an otherwise...
Read morePlaced order online at 7:16pm, and put in the email address in the box provided for the email confirmation. Waited for about 5 minutes, checked email, nothing. Called store 7:44pm to be told that email confirmations actually never work, but the pizzas are headed out the door and I should be getting them soon. Awesome. 8:30 rolls around, still no pizza. Called store again at 8:36 and explained the whole thing again. Again, told the driver just got the pizzas and are already on their way to me. I ask how long ago they left? They weren't sure but I should have them within the next 20 minutes. Just for clarification, the store I'm ordering from is 3.5 miles from my house. At this point ya'll I could care less if the pizza tastes good or bad I'm starving and the $50 worth of food I just bought took this long to get to me. And thats not even the real reason why I'm giving the 1 star. Its because I expect that if theres an issue with my order just tell me. Because if at 7:44 when I called I was told hey im sorry we haven't started on it yet we are really slammed tonight, I would have understood. At the end of the trip did I still tip the...
