I go to literally all the Dicks Drive In locations. I have been a customer for many decades. Most of the time the food is outstanding Although they seem to be getting stingy on putting ketchup and mustard on the Cheeseburger because it doesn't even have the flavor of a condiment. It just tastes flat and too much like a hamburger patty with absolutely no condiment flavor.. But worse than that: and ultra ultra annoying: THIS Particular Dicks Drive In TREATS CUSTOMERS AS THIEVES !!! Oddly, they keep the big of food bag out of reach from the customer until the purchase is complete. Seriously??? How many people are going to steal that food?. I find it immensely offensive to be treated as a thief and it is the only Dicks Drive In that does that... so it must be the manager asking them to do that? I tried to reach for my bag(One cheeseburger and fries ) And the clerk quickly grabbed it and stepped back away from the counter . I told her I found it very offensive the way that she was behaving, but she didn't care . I explained to her that I have a Masters degree from the University of Washington, and that is a research school . And that statistically I think it is highly unlikely that someone is going to steal a bag . And IF that actually took place, it would probably be less than one percent . And that OFFENDING good customers should outweigh that . But I was 'talking to the wall' . It's an outrageous way to treat (valued?) customers thatIt is highly highly offensive!! In my wildest imagination, I couldn't imagine that this is a big problem (let alone in Bellevue). To the manager at the Bellevue location: check the consistency of the condiments on your burgers and make sure they're not dry and tasteless. But more importantly, why don't you treat your customers with RESPECT and not treat them like Suspicious thieves!!! And to the CEO of Dicks: you should send a 'secret shopper' to realize what I am saying is true and how alienating it is(Especially as a longtime loyal customer) To be treated as a THIEF !! A THIEF !!!! I want to be able to receive my bag of food and pay just like I always have done and NOT have the bag held back as if I'm going to steal it !!!! That attitude and message to a customer is highly offensive, inappropriate, and downright RUDE and alienating. Treat your customers with respect and value their patronage. That's a basic of business! What an ungrateful and condescending way to treat ( valued? ) custoners. As THIEVES !! (Note: This attitude towards customers happens every single time I go to that particular Dicks Drive In... And it never happens at the other locations) Grrr!!!! CEO : please get this corrected(The inconsistent food and treating customers...
Read moreOverall disappointing. I really don't consider the atmosphere of someplace I have to stand outside to order my food and receive it very good the atmosphere is parking lot. The place is very bright and clean and looks good the food has a decent appearance. The burger has a nice bun can't see anything bad about it but the hamburger patties are dry the cheese is just standard American and and supposedly that was mustard on it but it had almost no flavor definitely didn't taste anything like mustard. I ordered ketchup which I expected to be on my burger but it was a little container of ketchup which is good because I wanted that for my fries anyway. French fries are always good when they're fresh hand cut but they were very soggy and mushy flavor was good whatever oil they're cooking in didn't leave any kind of an aftertaste that is a plus so the fries are okay. The Huckleberry ice cream is delicious I had a Sunday with butterscotch on it the butterscotch was plentiful and delicious portion size on the Huckleberry Sunday with butterscotch was very fair. Size of the burger was disappointing amount of fries was above average. Can honestly say I wouldn't go out of my way to eat at this place again but if I was hungry and I was close to one I would not avoid it. Sorry dick I just didn't like it as an...
Read moreDick’s Drive-In has been a Seattle institution since 1954. It has a unique business model where they offer burgers at extremely low prices while giving its employees a wide range of benefits. To do this they depend on two things. One is volume. Supposedly they’ve said they’d rather make 2-cents on 100 burgers than a dollar on one burger. The other thing is a very small menu with almost no modifications (you can get fries without salt, but I don’t know if anything else is allowed). Every burger is well done and with the condiments shown on the menu. If you want other condiments, Dick’s has a small list (onions, ketchup, and tarter sauce) they sell for a small price. These condiments come in a plastic cup, and you’re expected to add them yourself. The fries are fresh cut and usually hot and they have a limited selection of drinks. In addition to the expected cola, many people like their milkshakes (they’re okay, but not a favorite of mine). Someone called Dick’s a hangout for the rich and cool, and Bill Gates has been spotted at Dick’s, late at night and waiting in line (the service is usually very fast), apparently reliving a tasty part of his childhood. Gates is certainly rich, although opinions may vary on...
