Let me first preface this by saying I am not an impatient person. I am young, and I have worked in service before, so I know how hard it is. I empathize with service workers and would never be rude to them. But what I experienced yesterday was unlike anything that has ever happened to me at a restaurant. I went to Bellevue Frisch’s yesterday after not having gone inside for years. My best friend and I were waiting inside to be seated, reminiscing about when we used to come here as kids. But it quickly became apparent that no one was going to seat us. No one was working the podium in front, one worker was in the kitchen blatantly playing on his phone and simply glanced at us, and one worker was apparently bagging online orders and checking people out. She at least acknowledged us and said “she’ll be with you in a moment.” So that left the only other worker in the building, an older woman with grey hair, who quite literally did every single possible thing in her power to ignore us. She literally - literally - did every single job in that restaurant other than acknowledge our existence. She walked past us multiple times and would not even glance in our direction. The restaurant did not seem particularly busy - this was a Monday at about 6 pm; the drive through wasn’t even full. At one point when she walked past us, she said “I’m about to walk out I swear.” We ended up waiting for easily 20 minutes at least before we just left. And the moment we left, the couple behind us got seated. It was as if she was specifically ignoring us. I understand service is hard, but at the very least you could have said something along the lines of “it’ll be a 15-20 minute wait” or “be with you in a moment” rather than not even glance our way. And I don’t fully blame the woman with the grey hair - literally any of the other workers could have come over and sat us - it would have taken them 5 seconds. The one guy in the kitchen was actively playing on his phone and staring at us. I hadn’t been to this Frisch’s in years and now I will never go back. I’m sure the workers aren’t paid enough to care, but hopefully this review helps someone out. Go to a different Frisch’s if you...
Read moreMy dad and I went to go see the Budweiser Clydesdales today. It was from 2 to 5 and the party source. The parking lot was crazy full. They had a lady out there telling people they could not park there. They were getting complaints from customers. Let me say that you had people coming in that was parked there or not! Since the horses were stuck in traffic we all came in to eat. So at least you have people coming in to eat! But the rude a* employees had to b* and complain. But it was alright for their friends and family to park there and let them and their children walk in the cooking area. I am sure you had people come in after they saw the horses. If you didn’t want people to park there put up signs before hand!!!! Everyone knew they were coming. Your parking lot sucks, your cherry coke tasted like sewer and you have rain spots on your ceiling. When was the last time the health inspector came? I will get one out there ASAP for you!!! The poor ladies that came in after us had to ask for new menus because they were sticky!!! Frisch’s you may want to teach your managers and employees to smile and not make rude faces and talk s* about people. I will refer your establishment as an awful place to go. They are trying to make Newport better maybe they should start there. It was just for a few hours they were going to be blocked for a few hours. I know business was lost but god d* they should have been trying to get bystanders to come in, not...
Read moreThis location seems to not be able to cook their food properly. Especially the Fish Sandwiches, which have been awful the last few times I've had them. No more, won't be back to this location. They're undercooked in the middle, but look okay from the outside with the fish inside being greasy, not done and just not good. Somehow the buns are crushed flat, the lettuce is wet and they pile the tartar sauce on the side w the wet lettuce. Just a wet sloppy mess that falls apart and actually made me feel ill after eating as much of it I could stand. Never again. Don't even get me started about the Big Boy. 😀 This location always seems slightly dirty and doesn't smell inviting. The staff is always pleasant enough though.
Other Frischs locations ( esp. the one on Kyle's Lane) are somewhat better but in general their quality has definitely slipped and it's easy to see why they've been struggling. I still crave a delicious hot fish sandwich or Big Boy, even onion rings, but every time I end up getting them I'm disappointed. Just not cooked right, and some subpar ingredients (which is brand wide perhaps). This Bellevue location needs to clean up their act. Get better cooks and maybe a good change of the cooking oil! Sorry, don't mean to be harsh, I have always liked Frischs and would hate to see...
