Hyderabad Biryani Kebabs — Restaurant in Bellevue

The seeming owner of this place is exceedingly unprofessional and I was very uncomfortable while eating here. My partner met him and they spoke in their regional language during which time my partner informed me he asked him who I was and the nature of our relationship then expressed disbelief that am a lawyer, saying I looked like a homeless person (which I decidedly do not and was of course an awful thing to say for so many reasons), then he proceeded to disdain my partner's choice in his partner. After this, while we ate and my partner told me what this man said he proceeded to sit directly across from us, facing us and watching us eat the entire time, which was additionally concerning for me because we were seated at a high top table with an open area below it and I was wearing a skirt so I wasn't sure if he was trying to look beneath skirt. I live nearby, but I've never visited a restaurant at this place, Jack in the Box, Racha Go, and Chawla Cafe.

I ordered Lamb Curry and my wife ordered Andhra Chicken Curry. Both dishes were really good, actually the best Indian cuisine. I've never been to India, but I feel it tasted very authentic and home-made.

Service was excellent. The guy at the counter was friendly and they offer free chai that was also good. It was not a quick service (like 10 minutes or so) because I think it's made-to-order. The price is not low, but I can say it's reasoable because of the portion. Most customers were Indian people, so I think this place is a kind of "certified" place.

Interior/Exterior has much room to improve. It's not a place for romantic dinner, but again, food quality is guaranteed. We'll definitely revisit and I'll try...

I feel ambivalent about this place. Some of the shortcomings might just be cultural differences. I was the only customer and the lady at the counter talked on the phone for a few minutes before asking me my order while still on the phone. I asked for something not spicy and she recommended one of the kabobs. When it was ready about 15 minutes later she asked me to try it. It was spicy. She was very pleasant and gave me a free mango lassi to make up for it. It was the most delicious mango lassi I’ve ever had. The chicken kabobs came with onions, peppers, and rice and was really good (with yogurt I added at home), just too spicy. The to go containers didn’t close well.
