I was very disappointed by my very first visit to lady yum in the Bellevue Square Mall as the customer service was ok, though the pricing of one macaroon is too pricey at about $2.75. When a business is new and up and coming at a popular shopping, dining and lodging hub you must always provide free samples and when I politely and respectfully asked about samples, the two ladies working there said no. Again very disappointed by the no response about free samples being unavailable. The theme and ambiance of Paris, France and whimsical freedom was lovely and since I was inside the shop and curious about the offerings, just only bought one pumpkin brĆ»lĆ©e at $2.75. Had no idea Lady Yum existed until I almost passed it by at the mall on the second floor. The bakeries and patisseries in ILL de France, Paris France offer more pleasant experiences and more macaroons and baked goods for a budget conscious consumer. I would skip visiting this store as your better off visiting your local Starbucks and/or grocery store to satisfy your sweet tooth as we are in the holiday season and still coping with the COVID-19 pandemic. Awkward and uncomfortable experience getting denied a free sample just for politely and respectfully asking. Donāt see this boutique shop being in business for very much longer if they canāt improve the customer service and offer free samples. The macaroon was yummy, but...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe first time we went in ( Saturday before last) we thought maybe the gentleman working the counter was just having a bad day as there was no smile, no interaction, no response, nothing from them. We went back this weekend ( Saturday August 3rd) and it was the same gentleman. He looked generally pissed off to be there, didn't speak a word or acknowledge us in any way just rolled his eyes while he packed the cookies. Now if they are mute, the lack of verbalization is fine, but their general demeanor communicated disgust even without words. No one welcomed us into the store nor thanked us. It was super uncomfortable and we won't be back to the Bellevue location. I buy Lady Yum a lot ( even online) and have always had a great experience in person, especially at the Seatac Airport and Seattle locations. These were very disappointing and frankly uncomfortable visits . Maybe a customer service refresher would be good, or maybe job fit should be considered. The cookies were wonderful as...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI've been to the Lady Yum at Kirkland before, so I was really excited for this one as well.
We got a pack of 15 macarons to share among the family. It was supposed to be 3 for each of us, but they were so loved by everyone, I only ended up getting 1!
The first one I went for was the Toasted Coconut. I'm not usually a fan of coconut desserts but this one was just beautiful! That toastedness was on point and there was a subtle flavor of the coconut and everything went so well. It also looked really pretty too with the blue mac shells and white filling!
A tasted a bit of a salted caramel from my boyfriend's share but I wasn't too big of an he loved it too because he loves salted caramel desserts.
It had the vanilla and the raspberry chardonnay before so I recommend those as well.
The others really enjoyed the rest as well. The vanilla, s'mores, pecan pie and oatmeal...
