Decent place. Got fried rice and chicken teriyaki/katsu. Staples for a teriyaki place.
The fried rice was weird. The rice seems to be covered in teriyaki sauce, rather than soy? It’s very very sweet and not savory enough. Doesn’t taste bad by any means but it’s not what you want from a fried rice of any kind. Might as well have been white rice with teriyaki sauce on top. Literally no difference. So my craving for fried rice was not actually satisfied. Also, putting Lima beans, green beans, corn, peas, and carrots in it is excessive. Let alone not even having green onion in it. It kind of looks like an amateur googled a “20 min quick make fried rice you can make at home easy” and just took all of the ingredients from different options made for white people.
The teriyaki was ok. Nothing notable about it but not really anything different to complain about. For the price it’s fine considering where the economy is at. Back in 2018 or before however, this would be worth at most $7.99, so hopefully the prices were lower in the past. Oh, also, the fried rice is excessively oily and wet. At that point it’s not even fried rice 😂
Overall, decent pricing. Wouldn’t say necessarily adequate for that price, though. The execution is subpar overall so I have to give it a subpar rating at 2/5. Won’t ever get it again due to the sheer number of options for teriyaki. Most of which are better executed for the same price. But if you live right next to this place, it’s fine for...
Read moreSome quite good, some heinous entrees
The traditional teriyaki items are pretty good. Not the best on the Eastside, but definitely in the top 10 that I've had and worthy stop for lunch. Portion sizes are large and the wait isn't usually too long once making it through the line.
Yesterday I had the 'Spicy Three Meat with Stir Fried Veggies', which definitely falls under the heinous category. The flavor of the sauce can be described as a combination of frozen orange juice concentrate + ketchup + a small amount of chili garlic paste. To make matters worse, there is a HUGE amount of that sauce concoction mixed in with this dish; so much so that one could almost classify it as a soup. The amount of veggies included were almost non-existent, but the meat was tasty and in a favorable quantity. It is definitely NOT spicy, no moreso than the ketchup likely used in its manufacture. Unless you have a problem with dry mouth or like extra sauce, and are not opposed to ketchup in your teriyaki, do yourself a favor and...
Read moreCome meet Kim, the lady behind the delicious teriyaki at Teriyaki Time—where a warm smile and unbeatable prices are just the beginning of a mouthwatering experience. I've been a regular customer at Teriyaki Time for over 8 years, and the food is delicious.
The portions are generous, and the flavors are spot on. The teriyaki sauce is especially tasty—it's not too sweet and has the perfect balance of savory and salty. But what really sets Teriyaki Time apart from other teriyaki places is the unbeatable prices; I mean, sure, there are other teriyaki places around, but none of them even come close to Teriyaki Time's prices.
And the lady who runs the place is one of the kindest and friendliest people I've ever met in the restaurant business.
Every time we visit, she greets us with a warm smile and makes sure we have a pleasant experience. It's like eating at home, and you can tell she takes great pride in what she does.
So, if you're looking for an excellent teriyaki experience, Teriyaki Time is definitely the...
