Tacos El Fogon — Restaurant in Bellflower

Ordered 2 orders of Birria tacos three little tacos with tiny cup of broth two reg sodas and one side of rice one side of beans and chips and cheese.. $44. The place was busy due to graduation across the street yet the tortillas were stale and tough the meat was less than a tablespoon and two of the tacos had pure fat the other was a tsp of meat the majority was all onions .. we ate one half of one tiny taco and even the broth was cold. The beans were cold and tangy I have never had tangy beans they looked orange. The rice was so mushy you could not even see a grain of rice it was like dough. The chips and cheese I asked for just chips with only cheese they were half burned and the cheese was hardly any and was covering maybe four chips. The chips they used were tough . The parts that did have any crunch were impossible to bite through they were like leather. There were kids having temper tantrums screaming so loud so high pitched it sounded like someone whistling it made people cover their ears and this went on and on. I not only won't be back but I will never eat Birria again it used to be my favorite but even thinking of it now gave me chills. Come on.. how do you mess up...

As you walk into this place the aroma is a leather scent, not to pungent but just right. I'm not sure if they get many English monolingual folks or not, nor do I care, but my kids had to look at me to figure out what the staff were saying. That's not what bothers me and nothing in this place really bothered me at all. It was quite pleasant and a little language barrier. But if you know spanglish you're fine- it took a little longer to process the order. The staff there did try and made their best efforts to not have any barriers.its a bit loud in this place but what would you expect when it is really busy, a quiet place? I would worry if it is extremely busy and it's super quiet. That would just freak me out. All in all, staff were great and went above and beyond to accommodate and understand, they were patient with my teenaged boys which I find very difficult to do, and they even let one of my kids sample a drink that looked like peotobismol- I didn't like it but my girlfriend and 2 boys really...

My prior complaints no longer exist. I CAN taste meat in my quesatacos now. In fact, they are generous. I come here like 1x a week now. FIVE STARS. NO NOTES!! Love this place. Also, recommend the Fagon fries. SO BOMB 😋.

Original review: Cute restaurant and the chairs were very comfortable. Good dining experience. I ordered the birria quesatacos with rice & beans on the side. No cheese on my beans, and the quesatacos had too much cheese. I couldn’t really taste the meat, but they were still good. I would get regular birria next time. My large watermelon agua Fresca was $6.00 and it wasn’t even filled up to the top. Very heavy on the sugar. I wouldn’t get that again either. Overall, good food and worth trying other items...
