I had driven by this place for years and wondered if it was any good. I saw some reviews and finally decided to try it.
I tried to call ahead, but couldn't ever reach anyone so decided to drive there and order. I live in the sticks, and it's about a half hour to get there.
The place is uninspiring, but otherwise clean and the lady that took my order was very nice and efficient.
I ordered some soup, pot stickers, Mongolian beef, and their house special lo mein all to go. It took about 10 minutes and was ready. They had packed it really well for the drive home.
When I got home, other than some fortune cookies there was no soy sauce, napkins, or forks. This was ok for me, but if I had been staying in a hotel or something it would have been a problem.
The pot stickers were good and there were plenty of them, but there wasn't much sauce to dip them in.
The hot and sour soup was terrible and I ended up not eating it.
The Mongolian beef was.... different. Not bad, but not what I typically think of for Mongolian beef.
The house lo mein was pretty good and the best of what I ordered.
Overall it was ok. You get a decent amount of food for the money, but there are plenty of other places that do it better, including a simple buffet.
If I lived closer I might occasionally pick up something when I'm in the mood for not so healthy Chinese food, but I wouldn't make the dive...
Read moreNever order delivery through them. I've had too many bad experiences with their delivery. I once ordered delivery through them and they had it sit on their counter for an hour. I noticed it had been 2 hours since I ordered our food and called them back. They claimed that it was for pick up when I gave them our adress and paid for it over the phone. We got our food VERY COLD AND SOGGY. We just orded from them again and when we opeded our bag of food we found that we have no sacuse for our almond chiken. We called them back to find that we have to wait another 20 minutes for the driver to get back to them so they can send him back to us with our sauce. We already waited over an hour for our food. No one wants saucless breaded chicken for dinner. On top of that they where berry unapolagetic when we called them about our sauce. I am sick of getting g Cold soggy food from them and I do not intend on giving them anymore...
Read moreIf you want bang for your buck, eat here. Most dishes are around 9 - 13 dollars for a plate that will last you for two meals. This restaurant is the best deal in town and I feel like it doesn't get enough recognition.
My roommate and I eat here once or twice a month and typically get two entrees, egg rolls, egg drop soup, and fried rice for about 30$. We have enough left over for a full lunch the next day, and you could probably feed a family of four.
The food is good too. It's not top shelf, but it hits the spot. Personally I really enjoy the egg fu young with shrimp.
The restaurant itself is clean and tidy. The service is typical Chinese service. In China it is not customary to be overly polite like in American restaurants. Keep that in mind when ordering here. They aren't rude, but they aren't going to put on a fake smile and a show for you.
If you are looking for good, cheap, and local Chinese...
