Fat Shack — Restaurant in Bellingham

My rating is gonna be a little weird. The server we had was very nice. It was her and one other person so the wait was pretty good. My boyfriend and i travel for our job so its pretty frequent that we have the chance to try something new, but we rarely get to due to being exhausted. My boyfriend got the Fat Doobie(2,180 cal) and i got the Fat Jersey(2,200 cal). We also ordered the fried cheese cake bites.

Overall on atmosphere, it was pretty standard. From the amount of hype we saw online, we expected something similar to the effect of how Daves Hot chicken for us was. Very busy, very exciting, very open. What we got instead was pretty lack luster to say the least. It was a quick wait with the tv playing AFVTV while timehow also being quiet. There werent many smells, it just kinda felt like a okay burger restaraunt with okay food. And thats exactly what it was.

The sandwiches we got, while they looked good, felt like we were eating an entire bottle of honey mustard. The sandwhiches felt like they were just destroyed with sauce. I couldnt really tadte any other components in the sand which. My partner felt the same as it just felt as though all the fried food and fried bredding and fried everything was too much.

The fried cheesecake bites however were great and we probably wouldve just gotten those had we known how much we wouldnt like the sandwiches.

Overall, this place wasnt our niché, but i can see the appeal and would more so reccommend it to someone who is a huge stoner and wants a good stoner food for munchies. Other than that, i would go somehwere else if youre not into this kidn of thing.

Won't be returning to any fat shack. Love the food and never one to complain but something always happens when I order or eat at this location. The first thing that happened is the workers forgot my mozzarella sticks, which wasn't a big deal at all. However never received a refund and they didnt give me anything when provided with receipt. Second is that I showed up 15 minutes before closing. I know it's my fault but all I got was attitude and slightly cooked chicken which i had to finish cooking at home before my wife and I ate. Again no big deal. Today though as i was trying to deliver some food. Didn't get a chance to get the food because I was in line. The cashier gave the person in front of me attitude because we didnt know it was required to have a hot food bag. When signing up nothing is brought it about it. However to say " ItS OUr PoliCY. My GenErAL MaNGer IS RiGhT hERe, YOu CaN ASk HiM." Is plain Disrespectful. I understand new policies, but this place needs to learn respect for customers. Needed a place to stop on our way back to Tacoma. Found this cute little sandwich place , As we walked in we got greeted with this young man, he was very friendly asking if we had any questions and if we’ve ever been in before, which we had not! Gave us recommendations and told us what was good! Which if y’all haven’t tried the fat cow or the fat maverick! So good!!! We ordered our food and waited what felt like not even 10 minutes and our food was out to the table! Which at a place like this I was expecting to have to go up and get it! Nope another man brought it out to the table! As it was being cooked and finished it came out! We finished up and as we were walking out the same gentleman (General manager) that brought out our food stopped us and asked how everything was! Which we then replied it was so delicious 🤤 we got to talking and then figured out he was the GM he gave us a couple coupons and told us to come back soon! Very very friendly staff!! This three man crew definitely deserves this five star review! We will definitely be making our 2 1/2 hour drive out again...
